Hampton Inn Marshall

I often travel for business and I like to stay at hotels in the Hilton chain. In my judgement, this site is at the lower end of Hilton's standards for their Hampton Inn brand. It's not what I would consider to be a "bad" place, but each time I've stayed there (usually a week or two at a time), I've always had some minor annoyance. In a previous stay, Room Service took the bar of complementary hand soap and didn't replace it. (One bar of soap can last me at least a couple of weeks.) So I used shampoo from the shower to wash my hands. This latest stay, the TV abruptly quit working so they had me change rooms. Then I found there was no shampoo in the shower of the new room, so I had to use body gel to wash my hair. I travel for business, so I always need a receipt. I'm used to having the hotel just email a copy rather than print one. They did say they would email the receipt, but never did. Fortunately, as a Diamond member I can go to my online account and download an electronic copy from there. For business travelers who don't have an online account with Hilton, not receiving a receipt would be a major inconvenience. For business requirements, I need to be at the local office by 5:00 AM each morning so I have to leave before breakfast is served (usually leaving around 4:30 AM). At this location, there's no coffee available at that time of the morning. This isn't a complaint. I fully appreciate not making coffee when there's no demand for it. I'm just pointing out that some Hampton Inn's have coffee available overnight, and some don't. This location doesn't. Finally, the most annoying thing about this location (for me) is that all the rooms I've stayed in have toilets designed such that the seat can be raised, but it won't stay up on it's own. This means male guests must hold the seat up with one hand or not raise the seat at all. (I prefer to have the seat raised.) Perhaps I'm being picky, but I just don't understand the logic of such a toilet design. As I said, this isn't a "bad" location but when you stay here, be prepared to accept one or more minor inconveniences.

The room was cool and clean when I checked in. The AC kept the room plenty cool which was very welcome in the Texas summer heat. The room had a mini-fridge. There were two outlets on the bedside lamp. The bathroom had a tub/shower combo with a fairly slippery shower floor despite the non-slip strips/coating that had been applied. There was a grab bar for safety. Water pressure was okay. The hotel did not have a market but instead offered vending machines with drinks and snacks. The hotel also offered a complimentary breakfast and complimentary parking.

I liked everything about this hotel. The rooms were good. Front desk nice and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. In my experience, this varies a lot at Hampton Inns. But here it was really good. The attendant clearly takes pride in keeping the food fresh and hot. As an extra bonus, the Mexican restaurant next to the Hotel is outstanding. Overall, the is a excellent location.

I took my family along for business and was completely dissatisfied with this hotel. The floors in our room were disgusting and our feet stuck to them when we walked. The floors turned your feet or shoes black on the bottom. The tile was dirty to the point that the light colored grout was black. We have family in the area but I will not stay at this hotel in the future. We will stay in another city and commute to visit friends.

We needed to stop after a long day. We were able to get a room. The clerk was kind and helpful. We always know what to expect from the Hampton for breakfast. It was good. Our room was clean and the water hot. I gave it a 4 only because the bathroom could use a freshening up. The towels and sheets were clean with no stains. If we come through this way we will stay here again

Hotel was a bit antiquated with limited tech abilities in the room. Hotel was clean but had seen better days. The parking lots all around the building were very dark at night. Staff was nice and gave me a bag with two waters, upon check-in. Certainly not the hotels fault but there were only three acceptable places to get food in the area or even within five miles either way from the hotel.

Our trip was to visit friends & family. I initially made the reservation for one night. I extended the stay by one night before departing on the trip.as handled professionally & easlily by calling the hotel staff directly. I COULD NOT do this on-line.

The hotel staff is friendly, most accommodating and the rooms well appointed, clean and comfortable. Excellent Breakfast included an array of hot and cold choices. Tables were properly spaced and atmosphere inviting. Will definitely return!

Clean rooms and common areas. Yummy breakfast included in the price, very helpful friendly staff. Lobby/ breakfast area was a great place for our family to gather and visit with each other instead of being in each other's rooms.
