I was there in the May half term, very few children and not a lot of guests, most of them were older. Staff polite, pool nice with music, a downside in my opinion is, the water is too deep, it could have started lower. When standing, it came just below my lip and I'm five foot six, I saw no safety ring anywhere near the pool either. There was also an activity timetable for the pool but no activities took place as the hotel was empty though the staff were always waiting incase miraculously enough people turned up to do a session. Limited choice of drinks are available for All Inclusive guests at the Lion's Bar. Furnishings in room was dark, lighting dim so could not read a book by night and no blackout curtains...which I didn't mind. Towels would be collected approx 9am meaning there were days we had no towel to dry our hands or toilet roll until they came to do the room so we had to ask reception. Hotel reception is not engaging, we went there several times and apart from Ahmed on reception, we saw no one. There's also no signs or posters of things to do while in Marakesh. Now onto my biggest bugbear...the food...ugh...worst hotel food I've ever had to endure. Nothing is labelled which was a major concern as I have dietary requirements and my two travel companions both have allergies. The hot food was either warm or cold, even when I waited for a tray of sausage things for breakfast, it was brought out from the kitchen and yup, it was barely warm...didn't eat them as i feared for my stomach. The main breakfast was just veg...veg...veg with nothing but weird looking/ tasting sausage things to bind it together. I dont eat eggs, but there was an egg station where you could get an omelette. There was a toaster which was really clean, never had any crumbs on it maybe because I never saw any sliced bread to toast. None of the food is covered so flies pitch on them ⁴and if you use the other side of the restaurant where you get the savoury foods, there a little rat birds (not their real name) flying, perching on and pecking the food that some poor guest has to eat. The staff did not seemed bothered...that was a real turn off for me. Also all the chairs we looked at in the vicinity had dried bird droppings on the cushion. You can get large bottled water with your meals, I would suggest taking this back to your room as water is not provided. The area around looks barren, but if you turn left when leaving the hotel, there is a shopping mall about 10 minutes walk, with a Burger King and KFC amongst others. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel but it does have the potential to be a nice place. Would I stay there again, no, would I recommend it, no.
