Comfort Suites Manhattan

I should have read the most recent reviews before booking. Had to switch rooms. Smelled like a pet or human had peed on the carpet. New room had no toilet paper and the tub had grip strips that were stained and peeling. Almost slipped getting in the shower. The front desk guy was wonderful but I’m not impressed. Maybe a new owner? Definitely needs a remodel. Carpets in corridors are stained and the window AC units are antiquated and noisy. Workers were very friendly. The owners need to do better.

I selected this hotel based upon Trip Advisor reviews. I knew in advance that it was a pet friendly hotel, even though I have allergies to pets. In my reservations I noted to please place us in a room that had not had pets in it. Apparently there are no such room types - or - the cleaning chemicals caused my reaction moments after walking into the room. I will say first impression is everything - when we walked into the hotel lobby - there was paper etc on the floor and the free lemon water did not have any cups - with the appearance of the lobby I chose not to ask for a cup not sure if the water would be decent. The front desk clerk was friendly and I'm sure feeling the pressure since he was the only clerk on duty, with several of us waiting to check in. It was a very hot day in Kansas, and the a/c in the lobby was very refreshing and cool, however, not the case in our 3rd floor room. We ended up turning the unit down to 63 just to get it cool enough to tolerate. Overall the room was clean, just the pet odor I could smell that kept triggering constant sneezing and stuffy nose. We checked out the breakfast area, but choose not to eat at it. Not sure what transpired from the reviews I had read and our experience - seems like 2 different hotels. This was our 5th hotel on our road trip, not to mention we travel a lot and stay in multiple hotels. Very unfortunately at this time I don't feel I can recommend a stay at this Comfort Inn.

The poor management of this place shows! Every cheapskate corner that could be cut, was. Penny wise and pound foolish. The front entry sliding outer door stood open (in 100 degree weather) our entire stay. Many light bulbs were out or had been replaced with different color. Main floor ice machine was labeled out of order, but probably worked, they just did not want to provide ice to pesky annoying guests. Hallways were barely air conditioned. Our room door, top hinge, was defective and door sagged making it hard to close. The old style insert-card-in-slot door locks did not see our keys and we had to have new ones made. The rusty TP dispenser was loose, hanging by one screw. There was no place to hang wet towels. The parking lot was crumbling and decrepit. Location was far away from other, much better hotels (HIX, HGI, etc) to south by highway. The breakfast area was small and they ran out of paper plates early. Never again.

We stayed at this hotel from June 8 to 10 in room 218. The room is at the rear and free from street noise. The ice machine on the ground floor and 1st floor does not work, only the one on the top floor works. The buffet area in the breakfast room is very cramped. The toaster is in the corner, right between the hot item and the waffle machine. A small reorganization of the setup can solve this inconvenience.

We stayed for 2 night. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.. Breakfast included everything that you need. Access was easy and it is close to many food choices.

This is a very nice hotel. Very clean and appears new and updated even though the desk clerk indicated it is about ten years old. The desk clerk was very quick to respond when we had issue with tv. This is the second comfort inn we have stayed in on this trip and both have been very nice.

We were simply looking for a clean place to stay with good beds while visiting friends in Manhattan. Our expectations were met. Not a fancy place but fine for what we wanted. The only negative was that the remote for the TV didn't work very well -- but we did not spend much time watching TV. We recommend this hotel.

Our car broke down traveling through Kansas, and we got towed to a place near this hotel. This turned into a three day stay as it took a while to get the car back on the road. This hotel helped make an unfortunate situation much nicer. The room was large and clean, with a couch as well as the bed. Breakfast was typical, but we'll tended. The staff was excellent and nice. Car repair shops, restaurants and wallmart right there. Downtown and Aggieville were pleasant 20 minute walks.

This is the best Comfort Inn I’ve stayed at. Don’t know when it was built, but it was very clean and updated. This is the brand of hotel I like to stay at, but some properties are outdated and need upgrades. This property was a pleasant surprise, and I will stay here again. Staff was wonderful, all the facilities were open and functional. The only negative was the side didn’t close, and you had to depend on people to close it, a minor fix!
