Serenity on the Terrace

Great stay, big place & nice location We enjoyed our stay and was impressed with the size and amenities included with two ensuite bathrooms. Its spacious, a short walk to the heart of Mandurah & you have your own single garage space. Downside is that reception is at another location to pick up keys & if you have heavy bags you need to lift them up 1-2 flight of stairs (it is two storey). If you cannot walk up the stairs, don't stay here. The swimming pool is freezing in winter even though it says its heated! Despite that, I highly recommend this place for a nice family getaway.

We booked the 4 by 2 room for 2 nights with our 5 kids. On arrival we were disappointed to find out that one room was actually not an actual bedroom and was an open room with beds in it. It was also downstairs when all of the other bedrooms were upstairs. Another reason we booked was for the washing machine and dryer. Travelling with 5 kids means a lot of washing. On our first night we did a load and night and then found out the dryer wasn't working. We couldn't hang out the clothes as there were no pegs so we ended up hanging inside on an airer. I contacted the apartments and was told someone would come out. The next day my partner called and was also told someone would come out. Unfortunately later in the day we were told no one could. They did drop off another airer and pegs. I was told that they didn't know it wasn't working. I feel this should be part of the cleaning, checking things work. A few lights in the house also didn't work (Including the stairs) and an aircon vent was pushed in. The advertised spa is also just a bath. The dining table also only seats 6 which meant we had to eat on bar stools not at the table with our children. The master bedroom is extremely bright from the sun. There are no blinds in the ensuite or covering the feature window. This meant we were woken early. We did like the facilities in the kitchen including lots of plates, cutlery, pots and pans and cooking utensils. The oven worked well too. The dish wash needs the rinse aid refilled to clean effectively. The beds were comfortable and the provided toiletries were nice. The kids enjoyed the pool but it wasn't heated yet. Unfortunately we feel there were too many little issues during our stay and we therefore won't return.

We stayed for 2 nights recently to watch the New Year Eve Fireworks, which was only about 8 minutes walking distance from the foreshore. The 2 bedroom apartment was so spacious and lovely for us 2 adults and 2 young children, the pool area is beautiful and everything is clean. You can sit on the balcony and have a BBQ. The only downfall is the air-conditioning, lucky I brought a fan, it only works if you run it on one level, does not cool the second level very well, only if you switched off downstairs. I would definitely stay there again! Foxtel is available in the main area but not in the bedroom. Master bedroom TV was put up at the weirdest angle so you couldn't watch it in bed unless you wanted a crooked neck. Thanks.
