Vineyard Views Country House

I never read or leave reviews as I believe my experience will always differ from yours and I don't want to be swayed for or against a place. However there is a first for everything! I don't generally book into a guesthouse as I am rather private and I don't like to feel like I am awkwardly positioned in someone else's home. But when you cross over the threshold of orchids, you are seamlessly absorbed into the home that is Vineyard Views. They have managed to get the perfect recipe for 5 star hotel and home. The warmth, grace, sophistication, quirk and charm are slowly injected into your body as you meander through the house unknowingly making it your own for the duration of your stay. The Food. There is a reason we as South Africans say we have the best food and wine in the world... the variety, the flavours, the calories and effort are noticeable and very much appreciated. The Rooms. Home away from Home. We had torrential rain for 3 days and it only made you feel the snugness of the home more, it was like being hugged by your favourite person. The Team. Vineyard Views should do a finishing school for anyone in the service industry. Hotels, Guesthouses, Airbnb's, Caravans, Spaceships.... wherever you lay your head. I will always stay here when in Riebeek Kasteel, and if they are fully booked, I will change my plans accordingly.

Gareth and Grant are wonderful hosts. Location was perfect, safe on site parking. The rooms are comfortable and spacious (we were upgraded to the lixury suite) with warming blankets which were a win as it was a particularly cold evening. Gareth’s breakfast was gourmet.

This was a new place for us as we before only have been visiting Riebeek Kasteel for an hour or so. We have stayed over in Tulbagh before, but after finding this place - I booked it for two nights. Gareth did welcome us on arrival and took us for a grand tour on this little - but very lovely place. Great views over the winelands and a fantasic room / place. Some minutes later we had tea/coffee with newly baked lemon cake ( it was still warm ). Super ! The breakfast was a real treat and one of the best on our trip ( probably also one of the best when looking back on all of our trips to South Africa. Gareth and Grant are two fantastic guys that makes you feel really really good. And the place as such is a really cosy little place with an interior that coops well with Gareth and Grant ! I'm sorry that we missed the dinner that you can book with them - so that have to be next time! Yes, it will for sure be a next visit and then with dinner ! Christer & Gunilla, Stockholm, Sweden.

Gareth and Grant are exceptional hosts. If you are heading to R K, stay here and don't bother to look at other options. You have to experience their hospitality. Very gracious and beyond value for money.

Everything, room, surroundings, welcome, pool, breakfast, afternoon tea, gin and tonic with canapés, everything was fantastic . We felt as royalty’s . Certainly top of the best addresses we visited in all our travels in South Africa.

Must be our third or fourth stay and once again full marks for the great accommodation, food and service that never fails to impress. Thank you Gareth and Grant. You certainly are in a very special league.

VV is magnificent, service impeccable, the staff wonderful, and then food next level. Incredible birthday dinner was exquisite. Grant and Gareth are the consummate hosts. The crockery, cutlery, glassware enhance the impeccable food.

Our family needed a relaxing, comfortable break with good food in a beautiful place. This beautiful Manor House with Gareth and Grant’s superb hosting skills was the perfect choice! They’ve created beautiful spaces to relax, including a patio overlooking the sparkling pool, garden and views. The food served here is some of the best in the Cape and indeed further afield. Delicious cake, canapés and dinner. And then there’s a sumptuous breakfast, comfortable beds and all round good feel. Thank you Gareth and Grant.

Vineyard Views certainly does live up to its reputation. What a super stay at a stunning establishment. Gareth and Grant could not do enough for us. Food, accommodation and arrangements were all first class. Would highly recommend!
