I visit this place often! It is one of my favorite tranquil placed along the Malindi Coastal Beach. The Beach pool Bar and Restaurant is the best spot either for eating, relaxing or swimming. Kilili Baharini is a popular beach resort located in Malindi, Kenya. Situated along the Indian Ocean coastline, it’s known for its beautiful sandy beaches and vibrant marine life.

While the hotel does not have entertainment activities, gentle music sets the mood for a perfect evening at the restaurant.

I’ve had massages in 7 different countries; from Thailand to Goa to Europe. This was one of the best. Charity was intuitive and without asking questions she knew exactly what to tackle, where to be gentle, how to handle this rather old body. Truly amazing …. A perfect last day in Malindi.

My experience was the best in this hotel. I love how clean it is and the sumptuous breakfast that they serve. I also enjoyed their starters during lunch especially the octopus soup( i have not found this anywhere else). Just improve on evening entertainment for guests

Beautiful resort with great staff that really care to make the stay perfect. Highly recommended. Rooms are large, pools are lovely and food was very nice, but best was the attention of the staff; always friendly and trying to help where they can.

Kilili Baharini is the perfect boutique hotel. It is small (around 30 rooms give or take), upscale, has several swimming pools and the service is personalized, including the meals. While on the subject, I am not a fan of hotel food but this is the one place I have enjoyed every single meal. The cuisine is exceptional, the chefs produced finger licking delicacies meal after meal...I could go on and on but let me leave it at that. The adjacent pristine sandy beach is inviting whether you want an early morning or late afternoon beach walk or seeking to sit on a beachside sunbed and get your annual tan. Next time I'll try the spa.

Went there for my birthday for drinks and dinner. One waiter tells us we needed to order by 6.30 pm but another said we can order. So we ordered. To make it easy 5 of us ordered fish and chips, 2 ordered something else. 20 minutes later he came back to tell us there was no fish and steak was not available. So new orders. We asked how long it would take- he said no more than 45 minutes. We went to sit one hour later but no food was coming. I went to the kitchen hatch where another lady was also checking food coming out, and taking it to her table with many children and some adults. That’s why it took so long. Turns out she was the manageress! Wasn’t bothered about the paying guests! We finally got our food. Pasta portions were like a kids portion. Calamari looked unappetizing like a hosepipe. All very disappointing. Wine gave us a headache. We left after 11 pm and had started at 7! Would not go back

There is no value for money at all in this place. Im yet to understand why this resort is so expensive for what they are offering. We were welcomed to big rooms full of fresh paint..poor ventilation and very dark. The least we expected was atlist a balconcy which would help with ventilation but that was not the case. Some of their pools were full of algae. I dont even think its a hotel i can recommend to anyone.

I happened to stay over the Easter weekend this year... The location is Excellent! The ambiance has to be worked on (as a lot of barren spots) and low foliage around. Gave Kalu (the GM), a good tip (which to my surprise, he implemented the very next day)! Staff was very friendly and well aware of your very purpose at the property. I stayed in the new rooms (by the SPA block) but the room layout was pretty spacious and empty! They could do with some decent abstract paintings hanging on walls and not very expensive foot mats (sisal woven type). I love the fact that they had a large balcony with Lamu daybeds and a lazy seating (to sit at peace and connect with nature)! They had SIX small sized pools outside each section of blocks. Th e highlight of my holiday was the food. It was BEYOND my expectation! I have been to many hotels countrywide and have yet to tase a cuisine as yummmie as at this property. Kilili is blessed to have Salim and his brother (as culinary and pastry chefs)! They changed one entire meal for me (one of the days), and needless to say...it was exceptionally tasty. Love the fact that both brothers are open to challenges and their ultimate goal was to satisfy every guest. I was literally pampered by the staff and chefs daily-hot mahamri with chai in the morning (served by the beach), random food sampling coming at regular intervals (even though I was on Half Board), for my tasting and approval! The building itself is a little dated (perhaps because it was closed for over 2years), but they were working towards giving it a facelift (on a section by section basis) this month and as such, I would strongly recommend this hotel to all.
