Le Moulin, Lourmarin, a Beaumier Hotel ★★★★

"Das Hotel liegt absolut genial in sehr schöner Umgebung ( dafür gibt es von uns gefühlt 5 Sterne) und das Frühstück ist gut. Aber das war's dann schon für uns. Wir reisen sehr viel und kennen daher viele Hotels aller Preisklassen.Aber hier stellte sich der erhoffte Wohlfühlfaktor für uns einfach nicht ein. In unserem wirklich winzigem Classic Zimmer ( die günstigste Variante für über 300 € ) im 2.Stock ohne Lift (kein großes Thema für uns, wir haben keine Einschränkungen aber das gilt nicht für jeden) mit winzigem Fenster ( historisches Gebäude) war ständig die rückwärtige Lüftungsanlage des Hotels zu hören. Das sehr freundliche Personal schien teilweise etwas überfordert. So wurde uns eine 2.versprochene Schlüsselkarte nicht gebracht, es gab keine zugesagte telefonische Info wann das Zimmer fertig ist und unsere Essensbestellung mittags wurde vergessen. Aber ein absolutes " geht garnicht" war für uns das Abendessen. Als besondere "Art des Hauses" wird dem Gast das gleichzeitige, sicher resourcenschonende Servieren von warmer Vorspeise und Hauptgericht verkauft. Wir haben zu spät reagiert und hatten das ungemütlichste und uninspirierteste Essen unserer ganzen Reise. Den 2.Abend verbrachten wir daher im wunderbaren Restaurant La Recreation."

Hotel Bastide & Spa - Villa de Lourmarin ★★★★

"My wife and I booked Hotel Bastide for 4 nights for a wedding weekend. Our experience was terrible. Room cleanliness: -10/10 Customer respect: 0/10 Reasons from most significant to least: 1. There were a few oblong flies in the room. Not a big deal, I killed them. Then I noticed a few more in the bathroom. Then I complained. The front desk said “the cleaning team leaves the door open and they fly in, after you kill them you should be fine”. I then saw a baby fly on the bed, and found another on the curtains, and I went searching for more in the room. There was an infestation on the outside of the room, and they were freely crawling under the closed sliding glass door (see photo) 2. The safe was literally broken. The door was hanging off the hinges. Before discovering the infestation, I went to the front desk to complain about this, and he said “we have lots of problems with safes here”. OK… (see attached photo) 3. The bathroom sink is “in” the shower, so you need to walk on the shower floor to get there. It was still wet when we walked in the room, and had a scent of mildew. (See attached photo) 4. There was dust all inside the closet and the closet doors which grosses out my wife more than me, but is an indication of their attention to detail in cleaning the room (see attached photo and #3 above) After the source of the bugs was identified (and unsolvable) we asked to move rooms. They were fully booked. At that point, we had no choice but to make a reservation with a different hotel. After the front desk team member saw the source of the bugs, he assured us that he thought the owner would be reasonable and accept our request for a refund. We booked with Chase and until now (~3 weeks later) the owner has not be responsive to their queries. Obviously, I don’t recommend."

"Absolutely gorgeous hotel, a pleasant surprise even more than I imagined! Although it rained the whole time, I hope to come back next time when it's sunny. The hotel is a huge estate, and there's a beautiful restaurant downstairs. Highly recommend it to all my friends!"

Mas la Cheneraie ★★★★

"Located just a short walk from the heart of the charming village of Lourmarin, Mas La Cheneraie is a tranquil slice of Provence. Upon arrival we were buzzed through the gate and into the secure parking area. Very shortly we were warmly welcomed, shown to our room and offered a much appreciated light refreshment. The setting is relaxing and our room was clean, quiet, spacious and comfortable. The room had a small kitchenette and dining area which we used to prepare a light meal. In the morning we simply called Aurélie and Sébastien to let them know we were ready for breakfast. A few minutes later there was a knock on our door and a delicious breakfast tray was delivered to us. We could choose between eating at our dining table or outside on our private patio area. We did a little of each and enjoyed them both. Our hosts were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The location made it both easy to walk to the village for the morning market or to go to dinner without having to drive and park, and, to hit the road to explore the surrounding countryside. It was a wonderful experience and we hope to return someday. Weather and time permitting, we may even take advantage of the inviting looking swimming pool! "
