We stayed at Quinta do Rol for the second time. We love horseriding and the Lusitano's at Quinta do Rol are the best. The instructors Miguel, Joao and Andre are excellent, the best, they take all the time to make a tailor made plan for improving your riding skills. They are so friendly and chose the perfect horses for me and my daughter. We stayed in a room with two beds, a big closet and big bathroom with good shower. The room also had a kitchen with all the needed supplies and a sitting area, a tv room and a garden. The pool and gym were perfect for recovery exercises and yoga. Carlos was there to give the perfect yoga for equestrians followed by a very helpful massage. Everything was arranged by the owners, Rita en Carlos and Emilie. The staff is so wonderful and give you the best holiday experience. There has been no vacation that we longed for as soon as we left for the airport, this is an experience for a lifetime. And I forgot, when traveling alone, the people staying at the Quinta have always become friends. Because good food, wine and horses are heaven on earth. We chose this year to go on a family holiday to Portugal because of Quinta do Rol. We were thinking a long time to come here but were afraid it would be to hot in summer. We combined our stay with overnights at Lissabon en Cascais. It was an fantastic experience and not hot at all: a very pleasant climate even to ride horses! We had a fantastic time at Quinta do Rol: the passion of Rita and Miquel (teacher) is heartwarming. The accomodation is wonderful, very clean & tidy. The food & wines are very good too. My husband and daughters have dressage experience and were in love with the horses and the classes of a very high level but at the pace of each one. We will certainly come back! I have only kind words to say about Quinta Do Rol. The accommodation is wonderful, the food is rustic and so tasty, the staff and owners are super friendly and professional- and the horses… they are like magic creatures! Truly amazing place!

Amazing horses, professional intructors, excellent wine, tasty food, sunny days - everything what makes a person happy packed at one place in a week. Accommodation: You stay directly in the middle of a winery in a cozy nice equiped houses consisting of several rooms. The house where I stayed had I think like 4 bedrooms for guests and quite generous shared facilities, like a living room, kitchen and a garden with a lovely hamak. Bed was for me quite comfortable and I had very good sleep. Around the corner there is quite a nice covered pool area with stocked bar and a pool with salt water usable also when outside is colder weather or rain. Additionaly to that there are also tennis courts, some gym equipment and soccer / basketball area. For breakfast / lunch / dinner, there is a separate area where you get chance to socialize with other guests. Food: Standard breakfast consisting of cheese, ham, bread, cerals, marmalade, joghurt fruit salat and fresh orange juice. Everything was always tasty and fresh. I especially loved the joghurt and the fruit salat and orange juice. Lunch / Dinner: Every meal was different. Very well prepared, tasty and interesting. You get to try some nice portuguese food. Wine - one of the things that makes this place special. They have quite a nice selection of wines, I have tried to try as much different ones as possible and every single bottle was very enjoyable. Services: Staff was very friendly and helpfull. The room was cleaned before I finished the breakfast - I really liked that.. There seems to be quite a wide variety of posibilities what you can do between riding, like wine tasting, massage, wander around, geting a bike, etc.. Riding: Luxury riding facilities with like the best horses you can imagine.. Available are 2 riding halls - 20*40 (I think) - fully covered and 20*60 (I think) semi covered. + working equation place. The horses seemed to be very well taken care of - they were relaxed, extremely well trained and motivated to work. The horse was always prepared for you and after riding atended to according to needs - shower, infra heater, etc.. The lessons - Each lesson I got a different horse, so in total I had 11 lessons and I rode 10 different horses. You will get a saddle that suits you the best and you keep that one for your whole stay (unless you want to change) The lessons were really enjoyable - challenging, dynamic, fun. You get to see how every horse is different and you get a chance to learn how to adapt to that. If you are going for dressage lessons, I really recommend to get familiar with terms like leg yield, half pass, shoulder in, shoulder out, diagonal, etc.. If there is something special you want to train just ask for it and you will get it. Before / after riding you have a possibility to stay at the stable in a cozy riders lounge from where you can observe other guests having lessons and enjoying cold beer or wine.. Conclusion: Definitively a place I want to v

We were at Quinta do Rol for an intensive dressage weekend with 5 dressage classes for my wife. I am not a rider but was accompanying my wife. Our experience was very positive from arrival to departure. A warm and welcoming arrival to a easy checkout. But the most important was in between. The location and place was just amazing. Quinta do Rol is a high standard location in all aspects to service, quality of horses and trainers and a fantastic warm owner - Rita. My wife enjoyed the riding and as a non-rider I even enjoyed it. But there are options if want, you can enjoy the pool, follow the riders or go golfing or surfing nearby. We have already started planning for the next trip to Quinta do Rol and will for sure return. If there is one small thing to comment on - dinner service was good but could be better. But the wines - amazing!

This place is just paradise for everybody who is looking for nice accommodation in a tranquil, picturesque countryside, good food and nice people. Quinta do Rol is the best place for riders who expect excellent trained horses and the best riding instructor. Ricardo and his team give you the confidence and push you to new standards of your riding. The Lusitano stallions in the stable are all superbly schooled and the older ones to the highest dressage level. Rita and her husband are lovely hosts; they created a very special place with love to every detail. Emilie in the office was always super friendly and very helpful, when questions came up. The staff in the kitchen also always friendly. the food was very fresh, and tasty. We loved our meals spend with the other guest. I arrived one day earlier coming from Lisbon, as I couldn't t wait..I could have stayed so much longer. I ll come back! Highly recommended!

A wonderful place in Portugal where you can ride well trained and beautiful lustiano horses, enjoy good wine, eat healthy food and meet friendly people who are passionate about quality in what they do. The horses are well taken care of and the trainers are great. I can't wait to come back to learn more dressage. I recommend a visit. 😄

It was a pleasure to stay at this beautiful place with my friend. The trip beyond our expectations❤️! Lovely room, food, service, horses and of course the coaches. We learned a lot in a week and will definitely come back! Rita welcome us warmly and did everything she could to make our visit as pleasant as possible.
