Sol Arona Tenerife

Absolut zufrieden! Die Bilder sind echt, das Hotel ist alt, aber sehr gut und sauber, es bietet ein gutes Produkt. Zimmerreinigung, Rezeption und Restaurantpersonal, alle diese Leute sind hilfsbereit und sehr freundlich. Zum Frühstück nur ein Wort: Super! Vielen Dank! Wir kommen wieder 😊 auf jeden Fall

Quite old hotel, but very nice. We first had the rooms back faced, right above the night terrace and we requested to be changed. The personnel of the hotel was very kind and they tried to do the best for us. The room was cleaned on daily basis. I saw bigger rooms but the size didnt matter that much since we came for the sea. The closest beach was 3 min walking distance. Very clean. I would repeat this experience. Not the best but not the worst.

I would not recommend staying here unless you enjoy dirty, dated hotels. We have stayed at Sol Arona on multiple occasions and can happily say I will not be returning, upon arriving we was told our room was not ready and we had to wait 3 hours, when we got in the room it looked run down, cracks in the tiles, shabby paint and no doors on wardrobes. The aircon was dodgey making loud noises and considering it was a family room there was only aircon in the lounge area and nothing in the bed room not even a fan. The maids came in daily and replaced our towels but you can see they do not clean and mop the floors properly as I purposely left something on the floor which remained there the whole holiday. When we got here the baby pool Was shut which was not ideal having a 2 year old, when we looked they was re painting it and it opened a few days later, as I have now seen on previous comments the baby pool was unsafe, only a few days after it being re-open the paint was cracking off, making it slippy for children. The sun loungers are disgusting full of bird poo and severely sunken they are not cleaned down and are very very old and worn. On our last day we requested to keep the room on as having a young child and a late flight is not the easiest and they told us they are “full” which is a complete lie and after speaking to others they was told the same when the hotel is defiantly not full. More like they don’t want to pay the cleaners to stay longer. We was told to use the pool showers, which are disgusting and when my partner used them as we had no other place to wash down their was dead cockroaches, dirty tiles and absolutely stunk of wee. When waiting for the transfer it is apparent other guests have the same view on this horrible hotel. Only positive is the location is good and close to the beach front

Very basic hotel in need of a makeover. We were informed that it is set for a refurb next summer. Second visit to this hotel. It has a great pool area and the rooms are clean but no air con. It has the worst food we have ever experienced, but we returned for the location. Central for all the bars and restaurants. Star of Bengal 5 mins walk away serves 5 star Indian food and Destinos serving amazing Italian food. Ten minute walk to Chicagos. a rock bar with live bands every night. The attic bar with a great atmosphere and lovely cocktails. And if you like a nice walk, it's about a 40min walk to the hustle and bustle of Las Americas.

Myself, my partner and my mother stayed in the family room with sea view on the 9th floor, room 14, nice and quiet with amazing views of the sea, mountains and town. We had a lovely 7 day holiday in Sol Arona, air conditioned room (some people have moaned about not having an air conditioned room but we paid a bit extra for this and we were so pleased we did), fridge, very comfortable beds, shampoo, shower gel, hand wash were all provided as well as little kits containing toothbrush and paste and a few other personal hygiene items. The reception staff were welcoming and very helpful as were the bar and restaurant staff. The cleaning team came in daily and did a wonderful job in keeping the place fresh, clean and tidy. There was such a lot of choice with breakfast, lunch and dinner, different options everyday, lots of healthy sea food, salads, sushi, fruits and veg, various fish and meat options as well as pizza, chips, chicken goujons etc. Lovely pool and plenty of sun loungers, pool activities each day, although we would have been happy just relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet but if you do enjoy the pool activities then you can look forward to zumba, water polo, water matt and a foam party to list a few, each activity lasts about 40 mins and then the peace returns for us boring ones The location of this hotel is just a short walk into the town and to the beach, which was a lovely busy little town without being rowdy or noisy. Would definitely go back to this hotel.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, room was what we paid for, clean and basic Cleaning staff worked tirelessly to maintain the hotel inside and out, evening entertainment was hit and miss, great on some nights and a bit like karaoke on others but again we got what we paid for They run some kind of blue token scheme allowing you to use 'recyclable' plastic beakers from the pool bar, and an apparent charge if you didn't hand in either the token or beaker at the end of your holiday . I understand that the hotel will shortly be refurbished as MELIA have taken over, it will surely benefit from an update as this hotel has a lot of potential and is currently looking a little 'tired' both inside and out All in all a good stay, food basic but enjoyable, restaurant staff very helpful and attentive, cleaning staff worth their weight in gold, ran a 'tight and clean ship' in fact all staff were helpful and friendly...with one exception, a young woman who was occasionally on reception (looked like the youngest there) was rude and snappy, and found it amusing that an English middle aged guest couldn't get into the hotel room as the electronic key wasn't working, spoke about me to her coworker who didn't actually reply and looked embarrassed as he knew I had seen (although couldn't understand) her joke at my expense.....it certainly didn't spoil my stay but I do not go on holiday to e the butt of self entitled young staff members I hope she learns some manners before someone not as forgiving as me makes formal complaints. If you've booked you will enjoy the hotel, and I'm sure it will be stunning after the MELIA update, as I've stayed in other gorgeous MELIA hotels

We stayed for a week and returned to UK a few days ago. Was the hotel good? Yes it was . Food was excellent, staff were lovely and cleaners did a superb job. Plenty going on in terms of entertainment. Sadly on arrival we were told dinner was over in 45 mins and we could leave our luggage in the luggage room or take it to our room. We opted to leave it in luggage storage to save time. We left three coats on top of cases as we knew we wouldn’t be long . On our return the door of the luggage room was wide open. We gathered our things and went up to the room . The next day we realised our daughter’s Mountain Warehouse coat had been stolen. We reported to security manager ( who was very. helpful) and she checked cctv cameras but didn’t see anybody near our belongings. It did put a bit of a damper on our holiday but you live and learn. Def a different vibe about Tenerife in terms of safety as many shop keepers told us to be v careful as pick pocketing in the areas is rife and they have been known to enter hotels and observe who is leaving whatever . If whoever stole the coat is reading this I hope your conscience annoys you. Only people who are v low and no morals steal from people who work hard to buy things. Be v careful as this could v easily backfire on you and you will get your turn. If staying at Sol Arona and leaving luggage please make sure a member of staff locks the door. It was interesting to note that after reporting the theft we watched and we never saw the luggage door open after that. Hotel security need to upgrade their cctv and on the ground staff need to be more vigilant in who enters and leaves their hotel.

I got an electric shock from a water machine in the Gym and reported it to the "Customer Experience Manager", Paola. A couple of hours later we found the machine was back in service! Paola suggested that I was using the machine wrongly, or it was my mobile phone, or I didnt get shocked at all as she had tried it and found it to be fine... Im not sure how well they train their managerial staff in electrical engineering, but this blatant disregard for Health and Safety is breathtakingly bad. All Sol Melia have done is call their liability insurers, not even a small token like a poxy bunch of flowers for a potentially life changing and painful injury to my hand. Shame on you, Melia, I thought you were a good and trustworthy brand. You are not.
