Royal Decameron Salinitas - All Inclusive

It was horrible since the moment we arrived, I booked this place for two kids two adults and when we got there they only had two adults but my confirmation clearly confirmed two kids two adults. The food was basic nothing fancy, the food courts were not very cleaned. The tables were always dirty not to mention the floors. They only leave two bottle of waters per room when we were 4 of us how is 2 bottles of water enough? Everything was just not really what they make it seem to be, not enough chairs to relax by the pools or beaches not only that but I know they mixed the alcohol with water and that’s why they “serve you unlimited drinks” had 4 cocktails with “tequila” and nothing tasted like literally more water than alcohol plus my stomach hurt because they put water inside the bottles of alcohol…. Another thing you have so sign up to eat…. TO EAT when it’s a buffet for the most part why do you have to sign up to eat ? For every meal. Definitely not ever going again and I definitely don’t recommend staying here there’s better places to stay in El Salvador better resorts!

I will start with the good things: Location, very close to the airport and near the border with Guatemala. The beach, with white sand and very shallow water. There is a reef that breaks up the waves so you are never tumbling everywhere. And some of the staff is very helpful and polite, specially the waitresses. The bad: Where do I start? Let's start with their entry policy. You can't go if before the 3pm check in time. Most hotels will let you enjoy the facilities from the moment you arrive. Not this one, you must park outside and wait in line until the time to go check in arrives. The facades are literally falling apart. There are holes in the building where you can see the pipes. There are some renovation works being done, but they work so slow that by the time they might finish repairing everything, the new parts will be falling apart again. The lack of maintenance is everywhere, from pretty straigtforward things like a wood plank in a bridge over the pool, that is loose in one side and could be easily fixed, to stained walls, doors and doorframes. Also handrails, have black marks where everybody touches. But they are never cleaned. The Del Mar and Steakhouse restaurants are pretty good, but the Chac Balam, where the buffet is served is not. Breakfast buffet is just OK, you can get scrambled eggs (ready made) or to your liking with vegetables, cheese, etc. The rest is cereal, yogurt, bread, pupusas, beans, tamales, etc. Nothing impressive. On the other hand, the lunch buffet is just so dissapointing. It's always the same, and not the kind of food you would expect on this kind of hotel, or at least the image they want to have. You get chicken, pork, rice, beans, bread, sometimes a very bad pizza, pasta, potatoes and that's about it. The drinks are like 1/4 ounce alcohol and are way too sweet. Beer, you can get like 4 types only: Gallo and Cabro from Guatemala, Pilsener from El Salvador and Toña from Nicaragua. The rooms are clean, but the linens are yellowish, as well as the pillows. The furniture looks very poorly mantained, and the bathroom drains have problems swallowing the water. It's a noisy hotel. They start with music and activities in the main pool, right ACROSS the rooms at 10am. So if you wanted to rest, too bad. It's just not possible. The music ends at 12pm and starts again at 4pm. From there, all the way to 2am there is music. And it's so loud that you will hear it no matter where you are. They have a disco a little farther, but they turn up the volume all the way so again, you can hear it in your room. But the worst is the front desk staff. We were assigned a room that upon entering, smelled A LOT like mold. And there was even a dehumidifier running, but the smell was unbereable. I went to the front desk to complain and they told me they would send someone to check. I waited half and hour, and nothing. Tried calling the front desk and nobody picked the phone. So I went again and complained to someone else and asked for

From the beginning all good (check-in too super clean the bed so good ) thanks to Ricardo Zepeda for the amenities in the room and thanks to all the Decameron staff I have so much fun with my family! Beautiful paradise in El Salvador. I can't stay away from this all-inclusive resort. I visit Salinitas, Decameron at least twice a year. Provide me with the needed rest and stress relief from our busy life in the US. The food resembles the best of local flavors and many choices in fine dining for dinner. The staff friendliness and excellent management provide a clean and safe environment. I love this place...

We come to Royal Decameron Salinitas about twice a year , and we love to stay a couple of weeks at a time . It’s a wonderful location , the staff is cordial , professional and passionate about their jobs in customer service excellence. We are members of Multivavaciones Decameron . Shout out to Blanky Rivera who goes above and beyond to make sure are experience is always the best . The entire management and staff are always ready to give you their time and they sure make you feel home .

There was mold on our room… humidity is a big problem inside the rooms and it seems that it has been that way for some time now! I stay there with my kids and felt uncomfortable sleeping in that room knowing it has a mold problem. Besides the room, the food and outdoor areas were enjoyable!

So far not impressed. We arrived on the shuttle from Guatemala City at 1:30 PM and we still can't get into our room... it's now 3:42 PM. Shuttle ride was about 4 hours. I guess this will be our last time at a Decameron. Better to go with the more dependable brands.

Place is full of molds and run down. Showers and bathroom are dirty. The staff is not helpful. There a lot of places better then this place. Look for cleaner spot to stay. The food is the only thing that is worth anything. Don't fall to buy a timeshare at this place.
