When we arrived at The Summerfield Bar recently, we were advised that our room at the The Summerfield Boutique Rooms (which is a separate business above the bar) were unavailable. We were then handed a phone with Jimmy London (owner of the Boutique Rooms) on the other end of the line, and he said that the room had been overbooked by *******. He said he had only received notification from ******* of the booking one week prior to our arrival. This is untrue as he himself messaged me through the ******* platform after the booking was confirmed two months earlier. He offered nothing other than a cursory apology, and did not even appear in the Bar in person, despite the fact that I believe he was upstairs in the rooms. We contacted ******* who organised alternative accommodation nearby within an hour. While waiting, we received the most amazing hospitality from the staff in the Summerfield Bar, who were most apologetic for the treatment we had received. The bar was under no obligation to do so, as their business is completely separate. After returning home, I discovered from the reviews here that what had happened to us was no accident, and that this is in fact Jimmy's normal modus operandi. Imagine leaving your paying guests to discover that the accommodation that they had booked and paid for did not exist!!! Jimmy London has no morals, no scruples and deserves all the bad press he gets. Spread the word, and avoid Summerfield Boutique Rooms at all costs!!
