Hotel Boyeros

Had a 2nd floor balcony room (206) x 2 nights. Pros outweighed the cons: very helpful, nice workers; strong shower water pressure; great mattresses; fabulously cool and quiet A/C; decent Wi-Fi; lovely natural grounds with birdsong amid exquisite sparkling pools; nice breakfast buffet included with room; Santa Rosa Plaza across the road with a fine grocery store and a great crepe cafe, among others. Cons: a lot of truck and car noise on highway as others have said; traffic congestion in Liberia during the main part of the day; and noise from people in the pool area late into the night. But I’d totally want to stay at Boyeros again - for the real Costa Rican experience - ear plugs not to be forgotten.

We always enjoy our stay at Boyeros. The service is excellent, the breakfast is delicious, and the rooms are clean. We especially like the swimming pools which are well maintained except for some missing tiles at the far end of the big pool.

Five of us stayed at Hotel Boyeros in two rooms for one night before getting our flight home. Check in was easy and the front desk staff were friendly and spoke English. Secured parking was easy beside our rooms. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The breakfast buffet was good and the pool was great. We ate at the hotel restaurant, and both the food and the service were very good. Would certainly stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel prior to flying home. This hotel does not look like much from the outside but inside there was a lovely shaded courtyard with a large pool including a slide, a kiddie pool and a hot tub. All the rooms faced the pool. The room was clean and spacious with a king sized bed and good pillows. I liked the substantial furniture. Shower worked well although there is a sign that says hot water is only available between 5 am and 10 am and then again between 6 pm and 10 pm. If you need hot water outside those hours, you have to call the front desk. No hair dryer. The only problem with the room was the air con. It was very weak. I would have rated this hotel higher if it had worked well. Breakfast was a buffet with hot items and was very good. Parking was secured and very easy. No english spoken but we got by. Wifi worked well throughout the property. Good location close to the airport and restaurants. We ate at the Bar Restaurant Bagatzi which I would recommend.

Room and bathroom spotless. Bathroom a little worn. Plenty of hot water. A/C worked beautifully and was quiet. Liked parking next to our room in a secure lot. Balcony was lovely, overlooking pool and lush, quiet courtyard area. Mangos and bananas and lots of birds. Pool was wonderful after a hot, humid day of travel. Ate at their restaurant for dinner - HUGE portions of well-prepared, fresh food. Not overly salted. Language barrier there but kind waitress and menu in English, too. Breakfast included was really good the next day. Great coffee. Cold water dispenser near lobby. Perfect for our needs and a quiet respite from the heat and traffic.

Skip this place! Dirty, i was scared to use shower, no towels for pool & you get 2 bath towels for the room. I could not get any hot water to even have a shower. Noisy with all the highway traffic. Should have walked out & went to hotel by airport. This is actually a 1 star at best, 🤑.

I booked this hotel on the last night of my trip to Costa Rica to stay for the night before an early morning flight as it is near the airport. I was a little iffy on staying here based on the mixed reviews I found on Google but was comforted by the fact that most people said it was clean. And boy was that a mistake! I would absolutely not recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking for a nice stay. This is the kind of place that hands you room keys with the remotes for the A/C and TV upon check-in. While I certainly wasn't expecting luxury, I was expecting that the rooms, were clean and properly maintained. I almost walked out but didn't because it was late. Pros - Close to the airport - Front desk staff were polite - Parking is included Cons - Rooms are old and dingy - Linens were literally threadbare and old - Bathroom was so small that the counter is literally cut in a specific shape to allow the door to open - Shower barely drained - Parking space was limited and tight - parking was basically outside each room - Rooms were noisy - there's the road, I could hear furniture moving from the room above, noise from the courtyard that is outside the room door, and the beds creaked loudly There is no way that this is a 3-star hotel. I would struggle to give it 2-stars and I don't think you can get any more budget than this. Probably an upgrade if you're used to the hostel life but not for a family.
