Very good! The staff were all very helpful and obliging, particularly the breakfast staff (why are the staff charming in some hotels, and not in others? It's a mystery). Very good breakfast. The room was warm, comfortable and very clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable (bad pillows can ruin everything!). There are two restaurants, the Savoyard, which serves the usual savoyard stuff, tartiflette, fondue, raclette etc, and the more formal Table du Ruitor. We only dined in once in the hotel, at the Savoyard – it was very good. We went out for dinner other nights. As usual with hotels in the snow, they direct you to a ski hire place where you can get a discount. You can be confident in this case – they sent us to Netski right next door, which was really excellent. I have my own boots but I have lots of experience with good and bad ski rental places, and Netski next door was terrific – helpful and knowledgeable staff, and quality skis. Position of the hotel is excellent - very close to the Combes 1, Pas du Lac and Plattieres chair/gondolas. The only raised eyebrow was the afternoon tea, served every day in the lounge. It's free – delicious home-made tarts etc – but then 30 euros for three cups of tea made with teabags and UHT milk! Over the top, frankly. Other than that, a very enjoyable stay.
