Sugar Sands Beachfront Hotel, a by the Sea Resort

Tolles Hotel, sehr freundlich und ein tolles Frühstück. Frisch renoviert und sehr sauber. Mir gefiel die Möglichkeit, vom Sofa oder Bett aus fernzusehen, indem man den Fernseher einfach nach rechts oder links schwenkte.

Not the place it used to be. Did not enjoy the cockroaches crawling around and you would figure that at least a frying pan would be included hard to fry eggs in a saucepan. Pool was dirty for the first two days but finally it was cleaned. The hot tub is gone a big bummer. will rethink returning.

On arrival we were expected to pay resort fees which we were unaware of. Although the fees covered housekeeping, this was done every 3 days. We only stayed 3 days so no housekeeping for us and refusal to reimburse !!The hotel was in need of serious maintenance and some rooms were uninhabitable. Everything was very shabby and dirty. The room was far below standard. The kitchen equipment was sparse to say the least. Only 2 pans, 1 teaspoon and not enough cutlery to cover 4 people.

A great find with beachfront views and access. The staff was very nice. The room was very clean and updated. The beds were comfortable. It has a small kitchen. It was larger than many hotel rooms and there is room for a sitting or eating area. The wall mounted bar is used for that in this unit. The only complaint was the lack of water due to a break in the water line in another room in the building but it was fixed quickly. The affordability factor for working families and others is welcomed. Though not on the action side of the ***** it is near the 30A area and not too far from Pier Park.

July 28-29-2024 Great location but that is about all I could say… Pictures did not match the actual. Staff for the most part very rude. Parking very limited, very sketchy people parking across street using area as public beach access. Common areas unclean and dirty including pool area and sides of pool. Sink in bathroom stopped up bathroom unclean. NO HOT WATER. First day only one luggage cart should have been in scrap yard. Cart was rusty and broken would not put luggage on it. Next day cart had flat tires coming off rim. Room had been remodeled some what but definitely not a 300 a night location. The first night I arrived at 2:30 was promised room by 4:00 said would call when ready was 6:30 when i finally got in. Wasted two days of my vacation 1st day horrible second morning trying to find new place was able to get full refund minus first night and some fees. Internet and Tv were also jacked up. This place should close down.

I think it's important to first note that this is definitely a budget hotel. You get what you pay for; however, it is in an excellent location. I loved that we had a kitchenette (make sure to get some dish soap at the store!) and the beach just a few steps from the hotel. Publix was just a couple of miles down the road for any food needs and it took no time to drive to Rosemary, Inlet or Alys Beach areas for a nice dinner or shopping. The staff were very nice and we were always able to get extra towels as needed. Cleaning services do not seem to happen as I saw mentioned in other reviews but as mentioned, we were always to get anything we needed and could set our trash in the mornings if needed. It seemed they really spent their time cleaning rooms of those people that checked out. This is an older hotel that desperately needs some TLC on the outside which makes you wonder what the resort fee is paying for. The slats on the roof of our balcony were missing (see pic) so pigeons were in there and left a mess on the balcony. The elevator also went out one evening but was luckily up and running the next day. The floors of the room are also hard to keep clean due to the sand so bring some flip flops to wear only in the room. The parking lot is small. We never had to park across the street but if you come in too late in the evening, that is a risk. On the beach, there are chairs you can rent from a separate company and the guy running it, Rob, was great! He had our chairs set up each day and will even move the umbrella around the chairs at different times of the day to maintain shade on you if desired. Overall, it's a family friendly, budget hotel but I wouldn't stay here again unless they put some money into updating things. For a little more money, there are much nicer places around.

Nice and clean. Quiet, with not alot of frills. . Will definitely stay again. Was close to activities. The workers were very nice. They kept fresh coffee brewing 24 hours. I'd recommend the place to friends. Jet ski rental right outside. Great place

Sugar Sands is an older property that has been remodeled. This is a budget friendly property at the quiet, western end of 98 in PCB. Beach front with ample parking, two private walkways to the beach, jet skis and beach chairs available for rent, a beach front pool with play area for the kiddos, and a free beach bonfire on Friday and Saturday night hosted by the hotel and including all the fixings to make smores. All of the rooms have a view of the gulf, include a kitchenette with a fridge, stovetop and range, equipped with pots and pans, dishes, utensils, and a private bathroom. The property is no frills, but has everything you need, is pretty clean (the wood laminate floors were kind of sticky, but you're at the beach, the sheets, towels, and kitchen area were clean), and the staff were all courteous and helpful. This isn't a four star resort, but for a budget friendly option, it was very good, we enjoyed our stay, and would definitely come back. The property is minutes from Winn Dixie, Publix, Thomas' Donut & Snack Stand, and other food and dining options.

We stayed from 2/9/2024-2/17/2024 we did not get the room that we had booked the first night we were there. They did let us move to the room that we booked the next day. no one ever came to clean the room during our stay. My Husband went to get a roll of toilet paper and they ask him for ID. The soffit was loose in a lot of places could have fell at any time on someone. the shower was in bad shape, they did not have enough dishes or silverware in the rooms. We had no place to sit to eat because the TV was on the counter. Our room was dirty and had a lot of dust under the beds. Our friends stay in the room next to us and wires were hanging out where the smoke detector should be. Was not able to watch TV because of the WIFI. We paid in full the day we checked in. when I got home, I was looking at my account and noticed the had taken out 2 more charges. We have stayed at the place over 10 years, and this was the worst experience we have ever had with them. Must be new management.
