We booked the Standard room, at check-in the receptionist said that we had booked the tepee. Despite showing her the booking confirmation, she kept insisting that it was wrong room, and the Standard room is only available for 2 nights not for the full 4 nights. Told me that this always happens with the booking platform, wrong room advertised, and that I can get a refund for the remaining two nights. I informed her that is not my error and that should be between them and the booking platform, she then proceeded to tell me that it’s my problem as well.
The place and the room itself was horrible, it was a blessing is disguise that we didn’t stay there for the full 4 nights. It smelled, run down, dusty and just unpleasant. Staff wasn’t friendly nor did they care about customer service. The way the lady handled herself at check-in ruined our first night in Costa Rica, it could have been handled so differently if she had dealt with it professionally. Trip.com refunded the two-night stay. We stayed at Selina in Panama and that was also rather disappointing.
