Disappointing Service at Orange Hotel After a Promising Start
My anticipation was high for my stay at Orange Hotel, following a delightful experience at their sister property, Citigo, in Xi'an. The hotel's design and aesthetic initially impressed me, promising a blend of comfort and style that seemed perfect for both leisure and business travel. However, the service failed to meet the expectations set by its sister hotel, leading to a series of disappointing encounters.
1. Sleep quality is important for travelers, and after a restless first night, I approached the front desk to request a room change. Despite my willingness to compromise on amenities or pay a difference, I was immediately met with a refusal, citing full occupancy. This was perplexing, especially since room availability was still shown online. The lack of effort to accommodate a simple request was disheartening.
2. The housekeeping service was below par. After requesting my room to be cleaned, I returned to find my used tea cup unwashed and the bed linens unchanged, a basic expectation of cleanliness and comfort not met.
3. The absence of air conditioning control during the night was particularly troubling. Despite expressing discomfort with the heat and inquiring for a solution, I was told the system was centrally controlled to emit warm air due to the cold weather outside. The lack of regard for individual guest preferences and the unwillingness to find a solution resulted in a sleepless and uncomfortable night.
4. Interactions with the front desk were marked by a mechanical and unfriendly demeanor, vastly different from the warm hospitality I anticipated. It seemed as if guests were more of a bother than valued patrons, with staff appearing disinterested in providing any assistance beyond basic check-in and check-out procedures.
In conclusion, while Orange Hotel excels in its aesthetic appeal, the service significantly tarnishes the overall experience. The lack of attention to guest comfort and the unwillingness to address concerns make it difficult to recommend this hotel. It's a reminder that good design cannot compensate for poor service, and hospitality should always be a priority.
