Clear View Resort

We loved this place it reminded us of a mini golf course with the pure white waffle walls the Astro turf and the curved trimmed steps. We stayed in room 2 which we think is the best room on the resort , the view was spectacular and just a few steps down to the sea where snorkelling was amazing. Just a short walk around the rocks to a sanded beach, and lots of local shops and restaurants (we recommend in touch) a short walk left out of the resort, food was very tasty and lots of choice . Our room was clean and modern and there’s a big seated basket lie down area outside where you can soak up the amazing views and sunset. We had a water boiler in a room which kept water hot for tea which we found useful. Only negatives were no plugs near to where you can get ready a third bed in our room which we didn’t need made it feel a little cramped but the room is for 3. There is some work going on opposite the hotel which is an extension of Clear view but again this didn’t really affect us and we heard no noise disturbances. It’s advertised as breakfast included but there’s no restaurant so be mindful of that and I think we paid over the odds for a room here but we are happy to pay it for the room we got so no complaints. The manager was polite and took time to ask us daily if all ok with room and we had daily water melon given to us, all staff were pleasant and polite.

We planned to stay at Koh Tao only for 3 days of diving, but when we found the CLEAR View resort we decided to stay longer to just chill and relax on our terrace!! Each of the bungalows has amazing seaviews, is equipped with all the necessities you desire, is quite, yet in the middle of it all (Sairee beach as well as the pier are within walking distance). Kuhn Supie is a wonderful host and can give you all the advise you need on the island! I sure will be back again!!! Thank you for an AMAZING time!!!

I arrived very early having had very little sleep on the sleeper ferry and fell asleep on the sunbeds! The owner was the kindest gent ever and made up a room straight away so I could sleep! The staff are the nicest people, beautiful location, great pool and right on the beach. I was only meant to stay for 1 night but ended up staying for 3!

We liked the laid back atmosphere of this hotel - it felt like the quietest spot in Sai Ri, which is great - and the Infinity pool overlooking the sea and sunset. The room was nice and spacious with a nice balcony and indeed had a “clear view”! And it’s a great launchpad for activities as the pier, diving centres, long tail boats and restaurants are just 10 min away. So we enjoyed our stay very much. That said a few improvements are needed. Most important is that, while the room was well cleaned and made up daily, the common areas and in particular the walkways were cleaned very sloppily - it is not nice to see beer caps and bottles left around. Second, the rooms don’t have any hooks or bars to hang stuff (ironically they provided hangers but nowhere to hang) so after 2 days it’s a big mess… would suggest at a minimum to install hanger poles in the wardrobes and provide some form of dry rack on the balcony to hang used snorkelling equipment/ swimsuits etc. Finally there is no bar or food service; for breakfast that’s not a big deal as there are plenty of shops around, but with such a nice view getting a juice or a beer by the pool would be great. Overall we recommend the place and would come back, but would really like to see it more professionally run.

Clear View Resort was a great choice and experience for us. Locate right by the ocean with an awesome infinity pool. Our room was very spacious with nice A/C. The service was very friendly and attentive. We rented a motorbike from them at a reasonable price of 200 Baht per day. We enjoyed our evenings on the balcony with a great view of the sunsets. It is located in a quiet area of the island, which makes it a great place for families. If you want to join the more active area, it is only about a 10 to 15 minutes walk or a short ride. When we return to Koh Tao, we will stay at Clear View Resort again.

The location and view are good but it isnt clean, we did have cockroaches in the room. The room is very small and most of all the service is really poor. From start it was very clear not to ask to much to the receptionist. Even asking for towels was very difficult for her, at the end she only gave two while we where with four, the reason given was that others dont return them. After the stay they returned us to the pier and the driver even didn't leave the car to help put the lukkage in the car. Overall not sattisfied for the money spent, worsed stay in Thailand.
