Looks can be deceiving. We passed it up bc of visual first impressions. However after wasting 25 mins and gas, we ended up back here. To our surprise not only was it the cheapest of all hotels and motels in area, it smelled so good, cleanliness was above par. Customer service was a 10! Very happy with our choice. Don’t make the same mistake and just make the stop! U won’t be disappointed

This is a very difficult review to write. Everything was "off" during this stay. If I could give it, they would get a 2 and 1/2 to 2 and 1/4 stars instead as the front desk staff really, really, really tried to help -- but the limited ability to help just didn't "fix" any issues. 1) The hotel was majorly short staffed and the staff that was there, was still learning the ins and outs of this location. 2) The front desk/management staff was relying on maintenance to be responsive to fix our room issues. That just caused more hassles for us and timing problems for the front desk. 3) The hotel was both overfilled and has construction going on during the busiest weekend of the year. That was poor planning and certainly poor timing. We needed to be switched to another room but couldn't even get that efficiently accomplished. 4) Housekeeping was either not completed or completed way too late for various reasons -- basically leaving us to ***** and redo our own beds and bed box springs. After speaking with the manager upon our departure, while the hotel reasons for this were legitimate, at the time it was very frustrating for us. 5) The room window overlooked the pool. The pool sounds echoed throughout the room all day and right up until the time the pool closed. Kids screaming in fun, parents snapping in anger and/or families fighting could all be clearly heard in the room. 6) The parking lot is not well designed and parking sucks when the hotel is full. 7) There was water damaged throughout the room and the interior wall (a non water wall) was damp during our stay. 8) Toilet was full height and easy to access. 9) Internet access was secured and properly configured. That was a plus.

Do Not Stay Here, Go Across Town to Another Hotel The one good thing I can say about the Baymont in Keokuk, Iowa, is that Heather and the morning staff were very friendly. Our room was FILTHY!!!! Popcorn kernels were in the bed. My husband went down to get clean sheets, which we put on ourselves. There was a circle of sticky something on the bathroom counter ( cocoa perhaps.) It wasn’t just a stain, there was depth to that circle of sticky whatever. There was a thick layer of grease in a corner of the microwave. I believe that room was never cleaned from the last occupant. I didn’t take a shower as I feared what might be in there. The breakfast was okay, but I was shocked to see that the butter and cream cheese were in community bowls, rather than in individual packets. The butter was on a butter dish, the cream cheese in a plastic cream cheese bowl that everyone could dip into with a knife. I declined! When I left the next morning, I thanked the staff for their friendliness, but told her I’d have to write a bad review of the hotel. I think she understood. We were refunded a total of $22.

The check-in desk person on Sunday night, July 28, 2024 was excellent. He was courteous to the point and very helpful. The bed is very very comfortable. Didn’t want to get out the next morning. Lol nice nice place to stay. I would stay there again.

Not very clean and no one was very helpful. I also had a bad experience a different time so I will not be back.

Steer clear. Not clean, run down property. Like 4 cars for the entire night. Nobody stays here for a reason. Pool ceiling area had mold. Room not clean, internet went out constantly making working from the room impossible.

Old outdated motel with trash throughout the parking lot. Spiders all throughout the room window.Air conditioning not working The staff was friendly and helpful.I would not recommend anyone to stay there unless you are desperate for a room.
