We stayed here this weekend as we were attending a wedding. We have been over the moon with our stay. Food here is amazing, the room is comfortable and has everything you would need. We missed out on the wedding venue rooms but ended up really pleased with what we booked at the queens head hotel as many of the guests wished they had booked here too! We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and we are fussy hotel guests! Staff cannot do enough for you, rooms freshened up daily, breakfast there is many options - ate here for breakfast and dinner, the portions are fab. Varied menu with lots of choice, service is quick. Honestly book this place, you won’t be disappointed !!!

We were a party of 16 golfers staying at the Queens Head for two nights on a bed,breakfast and evening meal deal.All 16 of us found this hotel exellent in all departments.Starting with the quick check in,all done in minutes.Rooms were clean and comfortable.Our breakfast and evening meals were top quality.The evening meals were tasty and of a high quality.But one of the great assets of this hotel are the staff,really friendly and nothing to much trouble if you asked for anything. We will definately return in the future.

Very quaint hotel and extremely friendly people and staff were attentive and helpful. The room was comfortable as was the bed. Breakfast porridge with maple syrup I highly recommend. All amenities you could want and more. Definitely would stay again when next up in the borders 😊

Reception staff Julianne and Jude were so helpful. Breakfast was good with a good choice. Served by Amy who was very pleasant and efficient. Rooms were extremely noisy and warm. Night bar staff were unpleasant and miserable. Courtyard was open till one o'clock in the morning which was awful having to listen to foul language and smoke coming into our room. Not a good way to spend a birthday weekend

Well located hotel in the centre of Kelso. Overall a comfortable hotel but would benefit from a little updating ie: the blind in our bedroom didn't work. However, the food was excellent, and the staff friendly and helpful. Our room was a good size and comfortable. I don't recommend it to anyone with mobility issues as there are a lot of stairs and no lift, but excellent for anyone wanting to stay in Kelso. Buses to Berwick on Tweed run from literally around the corner so excellent travel connections.

We were staying locally for a week. We found this place on our second day. Ate there most nights as why look for something else when this was so good Service was excellent as was the food. the salmon pasta was excellent. You wont leave here hungry

The beds were the best I loved the place the staff were great the bar was nice and friendly But the food let the place down I got the chilli and I kid you not it was mince with kidney beans not a spice in site did mention this to the staff but fell on deaf ears Had to bring it up with manager and then got removed from the bill Overall grate place to stay The hall way had a smell of damp but never bothered me as could not smell it in rooms

We arrived for lunch to find the restaurant dark, dingy and not how the website's photographs would suggest. The room had no ambience and felt more like a burger bar than a well established country town pub. The first waitress was efficient, the second indifferent. Having waited 45 minutes for our two plates of fried food the wrong order was delivered to the sticky table in our 'booth'. Nearly an hour after arriving at the pub the correct fare was placed in front of us. Sadly it wasn't worth waiting all that time for. Kelso must have somewhere better than this.

Booked 2 Executive rooms for special occasions with family and we were somewhat disappointed. The rooms were ready but reeked of bleach from the bathrooms so had to open windows to air the rooms. Reasonably sized rooms with good beds but rooms faced the street so if you want to sleep don't take these rooms as its a cobblestone road outside. Also very loud voices from bars below. Staff were not particularly interested when mentioned this to them If we'd read any review about road noise we would not have booked there. Had dinner in the restaurant. Reasonable meal but plated up like a school canteen food! Table was tacky and non smiling waitress Wine was warm so had to add ice to the drinks breakfast was fine good variety and very friendly staff member
