1) Guest Services was worst we’ve ever experienced at a Hampton Inn. Despite having checked-in 6 hours earlier via the Marriot app, including selecting our room, it took about 30 minutes to actually get a room. As we were checking in at 5 PM, we were told by two Front Desk personnel that “they didn’t think” our room had been cleaned. By the time they found a new room for us, and gave us keys, about 30 minutes had gone by. Amazing incompetence, with absolutely no apology for our inconvenience. And, the coffee in the lobby was cold. 2) Housekeeping was worst we’ve ever experienced at a Hampton Inn: a) Bed had old flat pillows, with old ill-fitting pillow cases, b) Bathroom had used bar soap left in shower, and used wet towel tucked behind shower curtain, c) Housekeeping left used towels in hallway and door open to rooms not yet finished before leaving for the night, d) Carpet in main lobby area were well stained, and trash in lobby had not been removed from the night before, and e) Lights were either burned out or of insufficient wattage in dining area, making it dim and depressing. 3) Breakfast was worst we’ve ever experienced at a Hampton Inn: a) Bowl labeled Hot Oatmeal was totally empty – never had been filled, b) Only one small yogurt cup available in the middle of breakfast, c) Coffee area had not been replenished or cleaned from the night before, and d) Display of pastry was exactly as it looked the night before – confirmed with the picture I had taken at 8:00 pm.
