I rarely ever leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share this experience to warn other potential guests. I stayed at The Regent for a week, and on the last day, I discovered a bedbug on the bed comforter. I also developed bites on my legs and arms that appeared during the final days of my stay (bedbug bites typically show up a few days after the bite occurs). Unfortunately, instead of handling the situation professionally, the hotel’s chief accountant, Moses Kalu (not even the hotel manager), dismissed my concerns and accused me of fabricating the incident. This was particularly shocking, considering that one of their staff members had previously confirmed that dead bedbugs were found during a fumigation just weeks before my stay. When I requested a partial refund to cover the inconvenience and the costs I incurred for treating my luggage and belongings, as well as discarding infested items, I was accused of trying to "hoodwink" the hotel out of their "hard-earned income". Such accusations are completely unprofessional and unacceptable. In all my years of international traveling, this is the first time I’ve encountered such behavior from a hotel's management. Outside of the bedbug issue (if one can ignore that), the hotel itself was decent for the price, and the front desk staff and security were very friendly and helpful! The location is quite central, with several restaurants nearby. However, the management’s refusal to take accountability and their dismissive attitude towards guest concerns make it impossible for me to recommend this hotel. I won't be surprised if Moses tries to respond to this review with more accusations of me making this up...
