Das Guesthouse ist wunderbar gelegen fernab der Strasse direkt bei einem Gestüt. Bei schönem Wetter ist es hier wohl sehr gemütlich draussen mit dem Grill, den Sitzmöglichkeiten und dem HotPot. Frühstück ist sehr einfach gehalten aber ganz ok. Ich hatte ein kleines Einbettzimmer mit Sicht zum Parkplatz. Zum schlafen völlig ok, aber zum sich darin aufhalten hat es dann doch etwas einen Container-Charakter.

More than a hotel, it looks like a military barracks. The rooms are basic/tacky, they have nothing, no TV, no coffee, no tea, no glasses.... The bathroom does not even have a hanger for towels and it is unpleasant to be inside since it looks like a prefabricated module. , with the thermos plugged in and everything very basic and without decoration. There is an industrial kitchen that can be used, but everything is VERY dirty and old. The refrigerator is full of out-of-date food. Nobody checks that the cutlery, plates, pots and pans are clean; if previous guests have not scrubbed well, you will eat on dirty plates. No one at the arrival, no one at our departure. All "do it by yourself". I do not recommend it because it is dirty and shabby nor would I stay there again.

Clean rooms off of the main highway. Average size room with a typical Icelandic hotel buffet breakfast. This was the only stay that did not provide soap/shampoo for the shower. It has a bottle of hand soap on the lavatory, but the pump did not work. Room was plenty warm for the very cool and windy day we had.

My son stayed here for 2 nights in early May 2023. It was a terrific place to stay, though a little tough to find after we made the turn off the ring road (1). Bear left at the fork! The room was cozy but fine, the bathroom was nice and clean. There was a large common area for eating/hanging out with tables, chairs, and couches. The big communal kitchen had everything you need to make a meal, and clearly alot of previous visitors had left their spices because the abundance of spices available was funny. Big fridge, microwave, toaster, stove, utensils provided. We stopped at the Bonus supermarket in Borgarnes and bought stuff for lunch and dinners. The hot tub on the deck is excellent, and there is a wooden deck with chairs that we would have used if it was warmer. Its about 15 minutes NW of Borgarnes. Very glad we stayed there.
