African Flair Boutique Safari Lodge

Having visited South Africa many times before, on this trip we chose to spend 3 nights at African Flair on our arrival from the UK before transferring to Sabi Sands fo 4 nights and can definitely recommend it to others. Conveniently situated in Hoedspruit, African Flair is a very special, exclusive boutique lodge set in beautiful surroundings where lifetime memories have been made. Following a very warm welcome from Alet, who I felt I knew before arriving due to her responsiveness to the many queries I had from booking 6 months previously, it was evident that she was committed to ensuring we had the best experience possible. Even after we had checked out Alet accompanied us to the local airstrip and waited with us to ensure our transfer arrived and we departed safely. Our suite was just gorgeous and the good weather allowed us to sleep in the stargazer bed which was wonderful. Excellent breakfasts were provided and a wide selection of quality wines available. We also had a great meal from a local restaurant brought to the lodge with our table set with candles and flowers by the pool which was lovely. If you are reading this, I guess you are looking at the many different options in the area, so yes - read all the reviews, look at all the pictures but these can't capture the African Flair experience (they have won awards for a reason)! We would return in a heartbeat.

Everything regarding the weekend was top class and special. For an intimate private getaway this was something special that we have never experienced before. No faults at all. We couldn't believe that we had a private space to ourselves. 100% recommended!

I had an amazing stay at Africa Flair, creating wonderful memories that will last a long time. The place is very neat and beautiful. The host ensured our stay was memorable and communicated with us throughout. The food was absolutely delicious! It's a pity I could only stay for one night on November 11, 2024. Definitely 5. This African flair lodge is beyond expectation. We have had three magical nights here so far and will have one more night before leaving, but I can’t wait to share the experience. The host is charming, beautiful, and, most importantly, warm. We felt so welcomed here. We booked a honeymoon suite, and the room is huge! It includes an entryway, restroom, master bedroom, bathroom, outdoor bathing area, living room, and an upstairs bedroom with an open rooftop where you can sleep under the stars. The design of this hotel shows that the host has great taste. The host stays on top of everything, such as activity planning and booking, reminding us of the schedule every morning and evening, and ensuring we make it back on time and safely. Here you have more than what you need. I have Hyatt Globalist and Hilton Diamond status, but among all the hotels I have stayed in, I can honestly say this is one of the top three. PS: you can certainly trust host for the activities she has to offer. Bush walk and dinner under the stars are the top 2 activities I like the most! Must try.

The place looks stunning and is a perfect location for couples. It’s very private and intimate and the host is very accommodative. The upstairs area is perfect for sunrises and provides a perfect view of the giraffes. Good wine and bubbles are available on site and the bar fridge has some good options of beverages and chocolates. The spa is also available on site and the ladies provide the best treatments. The spa area is just as gorgeous. We had a lovely stay away from the city!
