Solo Sokos Hotel Pier 4

Mir gefiel die Lage: mit Blick auf den Hafen. Das Hotel ist neu und mir gefiel die große Holzkuppel in der Lobby. Mein Zimmer war klein, aber ich schätzte das Bett mit Blick auf die Bucht und die vorbeifahrenden Schiffe. Gute Auswahl an Kräutertees im Zimmer. Und guter Service

Wir haben hier im Pier 4 Hotel mit meiner einjährigen Tochter und meiner Frau eine schöne Zeit verbracht. Die Gastfreundschaft war brillant und freundlich. Das Frühstück war unglaublich. Viele lokale frische Lebensmittel mit gutem Service und wunderschöner Liebe. Wir schliefen in einem Zimmer mit Meerblick. Die Aussicht war großartig, uns gefiel der Anblick der Seeleute und Boote auf dem Meer.

Solo Sokos Hotel Pier 4 was opened about two months ago. The location is excellent. It is situated next to Helsinki Wheel, Allas Sea Pool, Market Square, Uspenski Cathedral and Viking Line Terminal. Most important attractions and many good restaurants are situated within walking distance. The architecture of the hotel is very interesting. Especially the wooden reception hall is very impressive and very high, almost like in New York. Besides, the hotel has a beautiful rooftop terrace with plants, hammocks, benches, a summer bar and 360-degree views. Rooms with wooden interior are very beautiful, too. Our room was Solo Supreme Twin with Seaview. You couldn't have any better sea view in Helsinki. Soundproof windows are from floor to ceiling. You see the whole city bay. Besides, rooms with sea view are very silent. There aren't any roads between the hotel and the sea. Actually they are going to build a walking district there but that construction work is underway and it can take a long time. Also rooms with windows to the narrow courtyard are silent, I suppose. We had a safety deposit box, a coffee machine and a self adjustable air-conditioning system in our room. However, storage space was too limited. There should be more and bigger cabinets in rooms. Our bathroom was also very stylish but it was hard to take a shower without watering the floor around the bathtub. There is a good gym in the hotel. Usually it is open 24/7 but sometimes there may be private events there. Dining possibilities are also good in the hotel. Both Restaurant Harbore, Rooftop Bar Humu with panorama view and Café Helli are excellent. Read separate Tripadvisor reviews about them. The breakfast buffet was one of the best I have ever seen. High quality ingredients, local products and stylish setting are very important to me. Besides, the sea view was great. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast and also the amuse bouche which was an omelet roll served to the table but unfortunately we didn't get it every morning. Both tea and coffee were served to the table, too. I also appreciate juices which they make themselves. Those juices aren't too watered and they have several interesting choices: lingonberry - star anise, sea buckthorn - orange (my favorite), carrot - ginger and blackcurrant - tarragon. I also enjoyed homemade jams and drinkable fruit soups, e.g. very delicious strawberry soup. Fruit salad and smoothies were also fresh. I loved different hot sausages, porridge, other hot dishes and pancake pieces, too. The delicious layer cake crowned the experience. Special diets (e.g. gluten free) are also available but they are hidden behind a corner. I really recommend this hotel to everyone. However, this isn't a good choice if you want to get a big room. Basic rooms are quite small (21-23 square meters). Luckily junior suites and suites are available. The biggest of them is 97 square meters.

Don’t go here if you travel with pets. I was travelling with my chihuahua. This hotel gives customers with pets ground floor rooms with a view to a wall. I felt claustrophobic. You even have to pay extra to get these horrible rooms. I am really dissapointed and can not recommend this hotel to anyone.

This newly opened seaside hotel has a stunning wooden architecture. The lobby is very impressive. There are two suites on the top 4th floor. We got the smaller one (463 = 62 sqm), which resembled an L-shaped extra-wide hallway. Both the bedroom and the living room were cramped. There was not enough space to arrange the living room furniture properly. The bigger suite (460) has 35 sqm more space. During our stay, it was used for marketing purposes to sightseeing groups. If we ever return to this hotel, I would book a Junior Suite. They are 39-58 sqm. Four are located on floors 1-4 at the round corners with sea views and one with city views. The breakfast was served at Harbore restaurant. The food selection was wide and of good quality. The service could have been more attentive. We were never asked if we wanted omelets or coffee. I noticed that some tables were asked. The rooftop bar Humu has panoramic views. Although the bar was no longer open, you could visit it to admire the views. We paid a sale price (-40%) of 398 euros which was a prepaid rate. With this money, you get better value at many other Helsinki hotels like the newly opened NH Collection Grand Hotel Hansa.

The hotel was absolutely wonderful, but the room was unhappily cramped and small, especially for the price. For a new hotel, the small size of the room was unbelievable. It's really a shame when the hotel's design, interior, location and views are absolutely wonderful, the experience was ruined by the cramped room. Breakfast was wonderful!
