Is Ha Tien worth a visit? Not sure; but if you end up here overnight because of a Mekong tour, a Phú Quốc ferry, a business trip or an overnight travel from Cambodia there is literally no option rather than Visuha. It is relatively new and therefore implacably clean; which is rare in rural vietnam. 1. Checkin: friendly; challenged with English but efficient and ok. 2. Room: relatively large, rather modern and implacably clean. A/C good and the sleep was good. Other people mentioned the “birds nest houses” to bother them. I haven’t heard a single one. 3. Pool: rather don’t go there. One reviewer expressed her disappointment that the pool was not open when they came; I say: feel lucky. No sun beds, not sure the water was cleaned one or rather two weeks ago. 4. Breakfast: no one goes to these places for breakfast anyway but this was really bad. There were only very little rooms taken so no buffet only a la card. Which is ok but the options and their outcome were disappointing. I had a local soup full of sugar. 5. Location is Perfect. Their restaurant is closed for dinners so you have to take the options around. And those are good, local, very local indeed, but taste wise very good. Bring mosquito spray (as everywhere in the Mekong delta). I write many not so positive things but you go to Ha Tien for a reason and that is not the hotel and neither the city (I hope). It’s the fantastic surroundings and the Mekong. There is literally no better option than this hotel and that’s ok. Because for a night in Ha Tien it is the perfect place.
