A horrible first experience in Guangzhou which was made even worse by the unbelievably rude, aggressive and unprofessional staff. Arrived at 1:30am and we were told that there were no rooms, even after showing them our payment and booking number. Instead of admitting their mistake and trying to find a solution, the male receptionist angrily shouted at us. To avoid taking responsibility for the situation, he then phoned another member of our group who was sleeping in his room and woke up him to come downstairs even though he also had a completely valid booking paid in advance. When I asked him why he couldn't just apologise and help us relocate nearby, he again started shouting profanities and made insulting finger gestures to me and my girlfriend. What a horrible place and they don't deserve anyone's custom with that level of selfishness. Other members of our group also left the hotel one day early because of the bad rooms and even worse service. Also Trip.com should take more responsibility for listing such terrible hotels on their website instead of just offering a pathetic 200CNY compensation, which didn't even cover the cost of the taxi to the hotel from the airport, let alone make up for the extreme inconvenience caused.
