Hotel Review: Residence Inn Dallas Grand Prairie I recently stayed at the Residence Inn Dallas Grand Prairie while attending the Paul vs Tyson fight. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations, even with the understanding that this hotel is not in the luxury category I’m accustomed to. Check-In Experience The check-in process was not pleasant despite having made prior arrangements. The staff seemed unprepared, which created an unnecessarily frustrating start to my stay. Room Quality The room itself was disappointing. It wasn’t as clean as I expected from a new property, and the design was very plain—lacking any charm or standout features. I chose this hotel primarily due to its proximity to the event and because there weren’t many other options available. However, it didn’t live up to its positive reviews. Location The hotel is in a convenient location with plenty of stores and restaurants nearby, which was a plus. However, the area itself didn’t feel entirely safe to me, which detracted from the overall appeal. Customer Service While I didn’t find a couple of the receptionists particularly friendly, I did appreciate the accommodation of my late check-out request the night before my departure. Unfortunately, this goodwill was dampened the following morning when an employee opened my door—an hour before the designated check-out time—to ask if I was leaving. This intrusion was unprofessional and unnecessary, especially since I had already communicated my check-out request. Overall Impression There was nothing special about this hotel to warrant a return stay. While I understand it’s not marketed as a luxury property, I expected better service, cleanliness, and a more secure feeling environment based on reviews. I wouldn’t recommend it unless proximity to an event is the sole deciding factor. Rating: 2.5/5

Perfect stay start to finish! Hotel is brand new, great layout, modern furnishings, very comfortable and SO CLEAN. We are picky, but this place nails it-- throughout the day you'll run into employees cleaning glass doors, hosing down the concrete at the entryway even cleaning the grill by the pool, impressive! Booked connecting rooms, was lucky that manager Samantha recognized there were only two left so she immediately reserved them for us and even took me to the rooms to be sure they would work for our family. Breakfast was perfect each morning, we always stay at Marriotts and are familiar with the usual offerings. This breakfast had many more options including at least a dozen toppings for oatmeal and yogurt! Martha handles the breakfast most mornings and is on top of everything- what a great job! Had the opportunity to speak with GM Justin Bell and Sales Manager Melissa Whitmore (didn't know their titles at the time) who provided great recommendations for the area including a long conversation about our shared love for BBQ and food! They're recommendations were spot on and they checked in with us throughout our stay to see which spots we hit and how our experiences were! Location of the property is the perfect home base to visit anywhere in the DFW area. Keep up the great work!

10/10 Recommend this hotel for any family! Hotel was super clean, they seriously have an amazing breakfast, and best of all, the staff was so kind and accommodating. They always would greet us in the morning with a smile and would never hesitate to help. We had to do an extended stay since our house flooded and the staff made the hard time we were experiencing just a bit more bearable.

We planned an important two-day business meeting and rented overnight rooms as well as the hotel's meeting room. We were incredibly pleased with the service all hotel staff provided. The event was smooth thanks to the communications with Melissa, the Director of Sales, who helped immensely with planning. As the coordinator, I did not attend this event but had the peace of mind that Melissa handled all coordination on my behalf, including setting up the meeting room, accommodating our needs in the overnight rooms, providing details and photos of the hotel per my inquiries, receiving and holding on to our swag that we mailed in advance, providing all-day beverage services, recommending nearby catering options and managing the delivery and setup of the catering. The group only had one small issue with the meeting room getting a bit warm early on; however, once we reported it to Melissa, she immediately remedied the situation in no time and even compensated for it without being asked. Our guests were comfortable in this beautiful brand-new hotel, and we are so happy to have had a seamless event thanks to Melissa and her team.
