The room was pretty. Bed was hard. Not enough toilet paper. No hair dryer. Pool was filled with algae and not swimmable. Dinner was terrible. Dry steak, oily potatoes and tasteless spinach. Wine made from their vinyard sounds lovely, but seeing it’s coming straight from the Douro wine country- we expected better wine. Starter, dinner and dessert, including white wine, red wine and port was all served within 30 minutes (all served with the wrong temperatures, for us wine lovers). The wine was also filled up way too much in the glass, but most would see that as a good thing! Breakfast wasn’t very tempting as meat and cheese was standing out without any coverage for 3+ hours. Lovely view though!

We stayed two nights and the facilities were nice, clean and decent value for money. The dinner, at 35€, which the estate offers was absolutely horrendous though. Overcooked steak, the wines were nothing else than low-quality and served at totally wrong temperatures, which an estate in the middle of Portugals wine region could definitely improve upon. Breakfast was ok-ish, but very basic. The location is sub-par, as it‘s close to a 30 minute drive from Pinhão were all the major restaurants are, which makes it hard to not choose dinner at the estate.

Our stay at the property was totally ruined by a very rude and disrespectful manager who did not address our issues the way a true hospitality manager would. He was curt and defensive, combative to a certain extent. We brought to his attention that one of our beds was not made up, that the lights were out due to burnt bulbs, that we lacked the basic amenities, among other things. He had the audacity to ask us to stay and watch the housekeeper clean up the room. We requested for another room, and he said he was fully booked, only to find out that on the last night of our stay, there were rooms available, judging from the guests in the dining room. Facility wise, the beds were very uncomfortable. One mattress was so worn out. I agree with another reviewer that the Quinta was too dark. Some furnitures and fixtures looked quite tired and worn out. Location-wise, the property is higher up, with windy, narrow roads. Allot more time to explore the area because of tricky driving, or take a cab if going wine tasting. It is also not too close to anywhere to grab a meal. View-wise, the property has good vistas of the Douro River and valley from most rooms, except room #1, and the common area. Too bad our stay was ruined by the rude manager.

Our three nights at this Quinta was most unpleasant. Housekeeping was shoddy. Cups not cleaned, beds not made. Basic amenities were inadequate. The beds were very uncomfortable: either too hard, or not enough support due to worn down mattresses. Bed frames were very squeaky with every movement. Inadequate lighting was due to several bulbs burnt out. All these could have been addressed by the manager in a timely and efficient manner. Instead, manager was very rude and disrespectful, even insinuating that we were the problem. He was very defensive when we brought to his attention the shortcomings of the accommodations. He insisted on us staying to watch the lone elderly housekeeper clean the room, a first time for all of us, and a waste of our time that should have otherwise been used for exploring the area. When we asked to change our rooms to one with a better view of the Douro Valley, he said he was completely booked. But, on our last night, we noticed that there was ample availability to accommodate our request, seeing that there were few guests who appeared in the dining room. Such a pity, because the Quinta was quite nice, with lovely views of the river and the valley. It would have been a great experience for us, except for the very rude and disrespectful manager.

We were a party of three. Stayed for one night. The property is located in one of the beautiful areas of Douro but in a very remote area of Douro. The property can offer so much if the owners will not save on electricity.... all common areas were dark . If you wish to stay in the property you MUST reserve in advance dinner. We reached the hotel at 17:00 and found out that the hotel can not offer us dinner since it serves only few guests for dinner.. We were forced to return back to Pinahu (30 min drive ) to have our dinner. We shall certainly not return nor recommend this property.

Une endroit où nous y retournerons en spetembre 2025 tellement nous avons apprécié ces deux nuits que nous avons passer. Merci pour l'accueil et la bienveillance des personnes qui se sont occupé de nous . L'apprentissage de la langue et des coutumes du Portugal serait bien 😁 ont verra ça l'année prochaine.

Bem nem sei por onde começar , muita coisa errada e a precisar de inspeção a todos os níveis por autoridades competentes. A começar o caminho estreito até á quinta , dois carros não se cruzam se tiverem essa infelicidade . Chegando á quinta para espanto meu e até pensei que era piada , o funcionário , apesar de simpático não fala uma única palavra em português … estamos onde ? Ou ao ponto a que isto chegou , eu percebo algumas línguas e se quiseres falar inglês não ia para o Douro. Mesmo casal americano está a tentar dizer uma palavras em português que não eram respondidas. Só tinha um funcionário para tudo , desde recepção , limpeza das folhas da piscina cheia de verdete e sem tratamento de água , jantar, pequenos almoços , só faltava fazer as camas também . A nível de segurança , quem usa cadeira de rodas ou tem mobilidade reduzida é muito complicado . Não é para pessoas de idade. Falta de iluminação á volta da quinta . De noite não se vê absolutamente nada de nada . A decoração típica do sec 17 misturada com oriental … para típico português não percebi . Se foi colocado posteriormente ou se já estaria lá . Mas era de bom tom deixar só o típico português já que era o que se pretendia da zona . Pequeno almoço muito fraco . Funcionário veio com umas 10 fatias de pão nas mãos sem luvas ou utensílios que o permitissem não tocar nos alimentos , o que me deixa duvidar do resto . Fiquei sem perceber se ele era funcionário ou dono da quinta já que nada faz sentido desde o atendimento ao resto . Deveriam colocar que língua portuguesa não se fala de todo e a língua só inglês . Experiência a não repetir. Todo o local necessita de inspeção á séria.

Vale sobretudo pelas vistas deslumbrantes, mas não voltarei a repetir este local. A todos os internautas que virem este post acreditem que é verdade. Para já, começamos com um atendimento que não foi em Português, mas sim, em inglês por um senhor super simpático que não fala português, de todo! Eu que prezo a minha cultura e tudo o que de melhor se faz em Portugal, prezo também por um atendimento que seja, claro está, em português! Acho que estamos a deixar cair identidade para assumirmos uma identidade que não é a nossa meramente para atrair mais benefícios económicos que daí vêm. O funcionário da quinta da Veiga não é tipicamente português, não sabe comunicar em português, e ainda não sabe nada acerca da cultura e/ou costumes portugueses. Isto entristeceu-me logo na recepção, ou seja, se chegarem turistas residentes em Portugal que não saibam comunicar em Inglês, o funcionário fica atarantado. Depois, um ponto super desinteressante é que fez com que os turistas ficassem também desinteressados, foi a qualidade da água da piscina. A piscina estava claramente a precisar de manutenção e limpeza Urgente! Nota-se um descuido, um claro desmazelo num dos locais que tinha tudo para dar certo. O pequeno-almoço é muito parco, o pão por exemplo notava-se que ao era fresco, não existe um café expresso, ou opções mais saudáveis! Ao pequeno-almoço, existiu uma coisa que me enojou completamente e fez com que terminasse a minha refeição mais cedo, o funcionário/concierge indiano ou não sei qual a nacionalidade trouxe umas quantas fatias de pão da cozinha com as mãos sem qualquer tipo de preocupação com luvas, higienização ou com quem estava a olhar. Podemos fazer isso em casa, mas numa estância hoteleira, acho que são mínimos até porque nunca sabemos quem nos está a observar. Em nota de resumo, a quinta tem vistas maravilhosas sobre o Douro mas é só isso…não aconselho a estadia! De todo! A minha roupa tive de a lavar toda quando cheguei a casa, só de a colocar no sofá do quarto ficou um cheiro claramente de que aquilo já não é limpo há já algum tempo! Enfim, tento não pensar muito nisso até porque dormi naquela cama que não inspirava limpeza alguma.

Prijs kwaliteit verhouding niet in balans. Bij aankomst vriendelijke ontvangst. Een ruime kamer alleen erg gedateerd. Douche kophanger kapot, deurknop niet compleet. Bij zwembad slecht functionerende parasols en kunstgras niet passend extreem heet onder de voeten. Robot stofzuiger wordt niet opgeruimd bij het zwemmen. Parasol moet jezelf installeren. Huisbaas neemt afwachtende houding aan. Het ontbijt is netjes alleen geen broodjes van de bakker. Slaapkamer werd bij ons twee nachten verblijf, de bedden tussentijds niet gemaakt. Beetje teleurstellend. Ligging fantastisch alleen erg afgelegen. Ze schenken geen eigen Port en witte wijn.
