WARNING - DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS! The employees at this hotel are unbelievably rude and discourteous. We made reservations at this hotel weeks in advance and even called a week before our trip to confirm. When we arrived at the hotel to check in they did not have the rooms we had booked. They tried to shove us in two horrible rooms, separated by a room with a screaming baby. When we tried to explain to the girl at the front desk (Zoe) that those were not the rooms we had requested and they would not work for us, she was very hateful and nasty. She said there was nothing they could do, the hotel was booked. We said we could go next door instead, and she rudely said, “Well you are still going to be charged for the first night. If you have a problem with that contact corporate.” We checked out and went next door where we had a wonderful stay. But the HI Express charged our card $340 for the first night, even though they did not have the rooms we actually booked. When contacted, the corporate office simply shuffled me back to the general manager of the hotel, Chris Irvin. He was very rude on the phone and refused to do anything to help. He repeated himself 4 times saying that they can’t guarantee room types and that no refunds is their policy. When I tried to talk to him further about the situation he got hyper defensive and said I was “defaming his character.” In no way did I ever “defame his character.” He refused to listen to anything I had to say, but instead just kept repeating himself.
