Premier Inn Gloucester (Quayside)

The key feature of this Premier Inn is the excellent location with an easy, short walk to the Quays shopping centre and historic docks, with the added bonus of the free parking, which is unusual for a 'town' centre hotel. From our arrival to our departure all of the staff were very cheerful, friendly and efficient and although for short stays the rooms are not serviced (unless asked for), there was always a good supply of complimentary tea etc available when needed. In a premier plus room the mini fridge is a useful addition and there were snack and drink machines in the corridor, which was very convenient. The room itself was clean and of a good size, but the windows were unable to be opened so we had to rely on the air conditioning for ‘fresh’ air. One thing to be aware of if you book a premier plus room expecting Ultimate Wifi. There were two of us in the room and it was disappointing that only one of us had access to the Ultimate Wi-Fi whilst the other either had to use standard wifi or pay an additional fee. The breakfast was served in a Beefeater in a building opposite the hotel and there was a very good choice of items. All well cooked. The only negative is that on a couple of the mornings although the plates had been washed some still had bits of food stuck to them from a previous meal. The plates were also cold. Overall the hotel is one of the better Premier Inns we have stayed in and I would certainly recommend it for its location and convenience, and especially for the parking.

The room was clean and the vegan options for breakfast were good but they were the only positives. (You do have to ask the chef for plant based breakfast). Didn’t have a good nights sleep as the bed was rock hard and the air con didn’t go below 20deg. Needed a good nights sleep as we had a family wedding the following day. We didn’t get it. Asked for cows milk alternatives at reception to be met with a stern ‘no that’s all we have’ If you are staying in Gloucester do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else!

Check in didn't go well, with the two ladies making fun of my name and failing to find my booking details. The automated check-in machines weren't working. On first impressions, a very poor start, however, the quality of the Premier Plus Room was really good. Always a comfy bed and pillows in Premier Inn - setting the expectations high for other hotel visits. Overall, very good, but the staff at check-in were shockingly bad - rude and unprofessional. Get that right and it would have been an excellent rating.

Amazing stay! Such nice staff who make you feel safe. Very good for food allergies cutlery and plates are specially washed for you and there are allergy booklets. Beds are really comfortable. Definitely recommend the premier inn! Really nice dinner as well! I recommend the Thai chicken curry!

Great hotel, with a good location, super clean comfortable room & fantastic staff, very helpful. Free parking with was great too. As always the bed was extremely comfortable. Handy for the Costa coffee shop next door. This premier inn does not have a restaurant but there are plenty of good eateries on the Quays 5 min walk away.

Good clean accommodation. Just what we needed in a central location . Staff were friendly and helpful . Great to have free parking and not rushed out if our parking space after we checked out. All round good stay in the lovely city of Gloucester

Went for overnight heading to Devon sadly not much sleep was had because our room was directly below staircase and it was a busy Saturday night. Also you would need very long legs to be able to get in to the bath never seen one so tall. We dined in attached restaurant which was just OK. Very busy be sure to reserve your table.

We had an unplanned stay here for two nights due to a motor breakdown. What might have been a stressful experience actually turned into a really enjoyable stay. Every member of staff that we dealt with was super friendly and helpful; nothing was too much trouble. We didn’t come across anyone who didn’t smile and make us feel relaxed and welcome. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve had anywhere and the chef was only too happy to cook poached eggs to order. The bar is also a great place to have a relaxing drink. The room was spacious and comfortable and the shower was amazing, I didn’t want to get out! The location of the hotel is superb, two minutes walk from shops add restaurants. I don’t usually write reviews but I feel compelled to write this one. Thanks everyone, you did a great job! We’re already planning to come back soon.

The hotel was very central. The Spanish restaurant across from the hotel was great. The restaurant for breakfast was disgusting the food was cold over cooked, and the service was awful don't use it, we were stuck for tine or we would have gone back to the hotel to complain, I have sent a complaint to the premier inn I have not heard from them.
