Holiday Inn Galveston Island

The service was subpar at best; the 2 front desk staff we encountered were miserable and didn’t seem like they wanted to be working here. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable (although no working hair drier in the bathroom). Comfortable bed, good TV and good shower. The description states fitness room but only a pool to be found. Dining area was out of action and only a few vending machines, I would recommend getting foods before arrival.

The staff at was very friendly and accommodating as possible. However, the towels were terribly stained and the applicator on the chair was very dirty. I’m not a complainer since I’ve traveled in good and bad situations, but the towels really need to be trashed. Also, they no longer serve any type of breakfast which was a bit of a bummer for me.

Horrible. The rug was wet and musty. The fridge didn't work. Smelled overall nasty. I brought it up and I was there was on one maintenance for 5 properties. I'm like that's insane to only have one. Will not be back. Worst place I've been by far!!!!

We stayed in Roman 211. We stayed there on November 4th and 5th 2022 and were there for the Lone Star Rally. The room was decent, except for some sort of hole in the floor under the carpet which was fairly large and enough to make you trip. They advertise continental breakfast but at checkin we were told there was no breakfast. Upon waking up on the 5th and doing our thing around town, we returned at around 3:00pm and discovered that our room keys had been deactivated. The front desk clerk told us that it is policy to reset the keys everyday. Also, upon coming back to our room, we noticed that housekeeping had not passed. When I talked to the front desk about needed new towels and wash cloths, we were told that housekeeping doesn’t clean occupied rooms. All of this for a total of $503 for the weekend. I know it was during a special event but for that much money, they could have provided breakfast as advertised and had housekeeping straighten up a little.

The 1-Star is for the physical property itself. More on that, shortly. The staff at the hotel were all super friendly and as accommodating as they are allowed to be. If the review were JUST for the staff, I’d rate them a 4-star. The property is is horrible shape and poorly located for walkability. There were stains everywhere in our room: walls, ceilings, doors. It felt like if you walked barefoot on the carpet that your feet would turn black. Disgusting. They are stingy with towels and well. With 4 people in a room, they only would supply 3 bath towels!! Requests for additional towels are denied - you have to go to the desk and exchange a wet one for a clean/dry one. Who does that?!? At least the AC was functional and the water got hot. We should have paid more to stay in a nicer property.

This room was horrible, The sheets were pilled the wash clothes had holes and the carpet was filthy. When you walked in the place smells of mildew and room was worse. The bathroom faucet dripped all night an you could hear doors slamming all night long. The front desk attendant didn't know how how to smile. I would never go back. It was overpriced even for a holiday weekend. Horrible!

I’ve never had a bad experience at a Comfort Suites until now. Nothing looks clean and it smells. The rooms are not at all what the pictures show! The beds were awful. Just nothing good to say about this location. I know momma said if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all but people need to be warned before making reservations!
