Love old home near all the Galveston sights. Quiet residential neighborhood with convenient parking in front. The grounds are well maintained, with lovely landscaping and a small pool with a waterfall. We enjoyed the from upstairs room which has private access to the balcony. But be aware the a/c is rather noisy and because of the light coming from the transom windows, the room is not dark at night. While we would definitely stay here again, we would appreciate not having to listen to the morning news coming from the kitchen ) (Fox News we think). Relaxing music would have been far more appropriate (although on one of the days Rene did turn on some music around 9, but we did have to listen to the talk from the morning news show while we drank coffee). Excellent breakfast served at 9:00.

My husband and I stayed at this inn for two nights. The B&B is a beautiful restored historic home with modern amenities. It is obvious the home is much loved by the owners. We stayed in the cottage behind the main house. The cottage is spacious and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and the inn had all the essentials that we needed for a pleasant stay. The Rene is a chef and her breakfasts display her talents. Not only was breakfast tasty and filling but beautifully plated. I highly recommend staying at this inn.

Like stepping back in time, staying overnight in this amazing Victorian home in Galveston, Texas! The owners, Robert and Renee, were terrific hosts, the house was beautiful, inside and out, and all the breakfast served was delicious! I would certainly recommend this B and B to anyone traveling to the island! Thank you, Renee and Robert for a memorable stay!

After a long drive south we were met by Renee, who proceeded to walk us around the history of the house, take us outside to show us other rooms and talk about herself and cheffing for what felt like 10 minutes, before eventually taking us to our room. Then more talk. Anyone with guests on their mind would have started with an offer of a cold drink or use of the rest room knowing the heat and humidity of Texas. The room was smaller than expected and just full of dusty junk. It was as if to preserve the past the room had stood still. No functional space for anything. The bathroom with a small freestanding bath and homemade shower rail and curtain combo was a nightmare to use.(anyone over 5ft 5 will struggle with the shower height.). Because of the shutters, the room is dark and claustrophobic. The bed was ok, pillows hard and bedding poor quality. The AC made the right noise, but was ineffective. All the lace and windows were dirty and the bedroom mirror smeared and dirty. Breakfast was a bit of a farce. 9am is the only time slot. No menu or choices. The tacos were poor and being given sweet cake covered in syrup and icing sugar, didn’t feel like gourmet chef offerings. We were due to stay 2 nights but left after breakfast as we couldn’t bear it. My husband practically had to follow the husband through rooms to get him to talk and share that we were leaving. Sorry it’s such a long review. It really wasn’t for us and I think some people are wowed by the old-world stuff.. a guest house still needs facilities that are clean, functioning and have guest comfort in mind. This place doesn’t.

The home has been lovingly kept up, and is every bit as charming and unique as the photos. We spent a lovely evening on the porch overlooking all the neighboring stately Victorian homes and gardens. The chef prepared breakfast was a highlight- especially for foodies. Rene’s personal warm welcome and brief tour of the home made us feel immediately welcome.

We visited Galveston the past few days and stayed at the Coppersmith Inn it was wonderful! From the time we got there the hospitality was fantastic Robert and Renee were fantastic hosts and Dexter the dog was beautiful and so well behaved. The location is about 1/2 a mile from the beach and 3/4 mile from the Strand. Our room was the carriage house it was huge, comfortable has everything needed. The breakfasts were gourmet all the way. We’ll be back soon and often!

The proprietors of the property did an over the top effort to make sure that our stay was unforgettable! From preparing daily 5 star breakfasts to insuring we had everything we needed. The property is well maintained with its Victorian style and charm. Antiques adorned throughout the house and architecture from the that era.

This is the place to stay in Galveston ! We stayed the night before our cruise departed and this was a wonderful way to start our cruise vacation. Service and friendliness of the owners is over the top and make you feel at home. Breakfast is a 5-star restaurant experience. The rooms are charming and the owners have managed to keep the feel that you have gone back in time 100 years and living like royalty. This is the best of Galveston !

We booked here for our anniversary and will definitely return! The room was cozy and quaint, like a second home. The owners were friendly and service was top notch. Breakfast was delicious! Had the bestest dog host ever! Thank y'all for making our anniversary even more special!
