Amangalle ist immer noch eine Ikone des asiatischen Grand Hotels. Aman hat das Hotel wunderbar renoviert und es erscheint im alten neuen Glanz. Wir hatten einen Veranda Room zum Garten hin. Die Veranda ist äußert gemütlich und wir haben einige sehr entspannte Abende dort verbracht. Der historische Spa ist einen Besuch wert. Der wunderbare Pool ist beschattet von Kokospalmen. Das Frühstück ist ausgezeichnet und kann wie in allen Aman Resorts wann immer man will eingenommen werden. Das Personal und der Manager sind äußerst aufmerksam und feundlich. Eines unserer Lieblingshotels in Asien.

Die Hotelanlage ist sehr schön und sauber. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, vor allem zu nennen sind: Miturshan, Mateeshs,Dimitri Boss,denet,okitha und seneth. Es ist auf jeden Fall eine Reise wert! Wir würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen. Außerdem bietet das Hotel einen tollen Infinity Pool, von wo aus man wunderbar den Sonnenuntergang beobachten kann.

Das Sergeant House liegt an der durch Unawatuna führenden Matara Road. Es liegt ca. 50 m nach hinten versetzt, ist durch hohe Mauern und ein großes Eingangstor geschützt und der Straßenlärm ist dadurch kaum hörbar. Das kleine Hotel ist ein in klassischer Sri Lanka Architektur gebautes Gebäude Ensemble mit hochwertigem landestypischem Mobiliar und liebevoll gestalteter, sehr ansprechender Dekoration in allen Bereichen der Anlage. Obwohl das Ursprungshaus schon sehr alt ist, lässt es keine Wünsche offen bezüglich eines modernen, zeitgemäßen Komforts. Die Zimmer sind bis ins kleinste Detail ausgestattet und eingerichtet. Der üppige tropische Garten ist gut gepflegt und bietet einen geschützten Jakuzzi Bereich und weitere ruhige Sitzbereiche. Der Pool ist elegant in die Anlage eingefügt und bietet beim Schwimmen eine Art von Dschungel feeling. Der wirklich private kleine, aber feine Strand bietet sonnige und schattige Plätze auf einer schönen Rasenfläche. Da das Hotel nicht viele Zimmer hat, war immer eine sehr private, ruhige und entspannte Atmosphäre. Das Personal ist sympathisch, freundlich und gut geschult. Die sehr nette, kompetente Managerin des Hotels Chanthuri ist jederzeit für ihre Gäste ansprechbar und war immer eine gute Hilfe bei allen anstehenden Fragen. Auch die von ihr vermittelten Tuktuk Fahrer und Masseure sind ebenfalls sehr zu empfehlen. Es gab nichts auszusetzen. Ich würde jederzeit gerne wiederkommen.

From booking the villa almost a year ago to finally being able to visit in Dec 2023, our whole experience was amazing. Firstly a big thank you to Christophe and Diane who took their time to arrange everything we requested for both Christmas and New Years and made my Father's 75th birthday super special. Christophe and Diane were so accommodating and even arranged a video call with us ahead of our stay to ensure we were all set to go as it was a group of 8 of us and we had hired the whole villa! Approaching the villa itself is mind-blowing and you just realise that it is just as stunning as the pictures. As soon as we got there we were given a tour by Christophe himself and we got to meet all of the staff at the villa who became like our family over our 10 nights stay. Manju and his whole team are so friendly and couldn't do enough for all of us, we truly miss them all so much. The rooms are all amazing and have unique decor, each with an ensuite. The pool area is so peaceful and we spent a lot of time out here in each day just listening to the peacock which roamed around on the grounds and could also see the monkeys in the surrounding trees. One of my favourite spots had to be in the upstairs games room which has 2 swinging chairs where you could sit with your coffee and just listen to the surrounding nature (just felt so zen). We also made use of the gym which was definitely needed after all the delicious food we were eating each day. Christmas Day which was also the same day as our dad's 75th birthday was arranged so well. Christmas dinner was amazing and the fireworks and cake which were arranged ahead of our stay made the whole evening really special. Getting around from the villa to the nearby beaches and Galle was easy to arrange. We just had to let Manju know and he arranged for 3 Tuk Tuk's to take us around and these were very reasonably priced. He also arranged our day trip to Ella with a comfortable mini van which was a memorable trip for us all. Overall we cannot fault our stay and we would love to come back to the Divine. Our last day was emotional as we felt we were leaving family behind, Manju and team we truly miss you and thank you for everything you did for us and making our stay so special.

Das Riff ist sehr modern und hell gehalten. Sehr angenehme Klimaanlage. Essen weitgehend westlich und sehr lecker. Einziges echtes Manko: Die Wand zum großen Bad ist komplett durchsichtig. Der Vorhang lässt sich nur händisch bedienen, unabhängig von der Tür. Das heißt, entweder man nimmt sich jeweils 2 Minuten Zeit, um das Rollo runterzulassen und hinterher wieder raufzuziehen, oder die Toilette ist von überall im Raum gut im Blick. Kleine Punkte daneben: Die Treppe im Haus ist wohl nicht wirklich dazu gedacht, verwendet zu werden, sie ist dreckig, dunkel und gerade genug breit für eine Person. Die Außenanlage ist nicht gerade weitläufig, wie wahrscheinlich alles in Hikkaduwa eher eng (Pool direkt an Restaurant, Restaurant unter Balkons). Der Service ist, wie überall in Sri Lanka, oft sehr langsam.

The room given to me was very spacious, clean, well equipped and specially the toilet plus shower facility was commendable as it gives you an extra natural impression. Nipun, his wife, his mother and the girl who helps with the day-to-day work were all very attentive to take care of my requests and always available instantly. Easy access to beautiful beach, shops and restaurants. Even if one of the previous clients mentioned about the train track closeness and the noise, I found it's quiet and had a very good peaceful sleep during my stay of three nights. Had I had more days available, I'd have stayed more. I had the pleasure of having their home cooked tasty meals which was very nice and cheaper. They recommended me a very good reputed JLH Restaurant for lobsters and that was remarkable. All and all, I had a very pleasurable stay at Tamara Motels. Would not stay any other place when I'm in Hikkaduwa again.

Nach Abschluss unserer wunderschönen Rundreise durch Sri Lanka hatten wir uns ein paar Tage in diesem Hotel erholen können. Es liegt direkt am Strand, ist recht familiär, und das Personal ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben - wetterbedingt- auch ausgiebig das Spa genossen, ein ganz großes Lob an Frau Priyadarshani! Sie ist sehr freundlich und kompetent. Strand und Meer sind wunderbar, so dass kleinere Schwächen in der Ausstattung des Hotels nicht so tragisch sind. Auch die Lage fernab von weiteren touristischen Hotspots trägt sehr zur Erholung im Anschluss an eine Rundreise bei. Jederzeit gerne wieder.
