Holiday Inn Express & Suites Franklin

Hotel was exceptional! The bed and pillows were so comfy! I loved that they had the pump bottles of toiletries instead of the individual ones.. Saves so much waste. The hotel was clean inside and out and conveniently located. Breakfast could have been better, but they had enough to get full. The toaster didn't work too good and the orange juice tasted more like orange sunny D. Would definitely stay here again!

The front desk staff were amazing - friendly and humorous, they saved the day. The hotel is in an area that I didn’t scope out well (that’s on me of course) since it’s almost industrial/commercial for that area. It didn’t give me the best of vibes as a solo traveler but they front desk staff helped ease that concern. This seems to be an older hotel so it does indeed have a heat/air system that’s gonna be a struggle all night long to get set for you. When I did sleep, I slept well but it wasn’t easy. The room was clean and well kept, the aging that was there was entirely expected. It was a little on the pricey side for what you got, so I’ll keep that in mind going forward.

Far too much money ($189) for a room that had an unbearably loud ac heat unit and zero insulation between floors that caused extreme noise from simple walking around of the occupants in the room above.

I travel extensively for work and rely on reviews for both hotels and dining. After a couple of bad recent reviews, I reluctantly booked this hotel because it was only 10 min from the job I was working at. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. I had a single king room that was updated to the current Holiday Inn style and furnishings. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Some of the common areas looked like they needed some minor attention, but as a whole, the hotel was very nice. Breakfast was good and offered a pretty good selection of hot items. The breakfast area was open, comfortable, and very clean! I didn't use the pool or workout room, but I did use the complimentary guest laundry.... the machines were newer, front load units, and did a really nice job on my dirty high-viz work wear. All the employees I interacted with were friendly and helpful, I would definitely stay here if I'm in the area working again.

I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express in Franklin KY last nite. I saw all of these great reviews (5 stars/awesome). So I used a veterans discount to get a decent price ($122 night from $159). I’ve stayed at several of these (Holiday Inn Expresses) over the years, usually great experiences and nice rooms. So here it is, I was compelled to put an HONEST review out there…… And no, I was not compensated or put in another room. Both employees at desk said the hotel was 100% booked with no other rooms available. I stayed up all night “NO sleep because I thought the window A/C unit was coming in for a landing. I called the 1-800 guest relations phone number at 0230 hours, and I spoke with a lady named Shirley (foreign call center). She was very nice but understanding (speech) what she said was challenging. After I reported everything, Shirley put me on hold for 20 minutes. When she came back on the line, she told me she just called the hotel manager where I was staying, and the desk manager told her there is no maintenance on duty at the hotel, and no rooms to move me. Shirley started a complaint form, in which the GM is supposedly going to review and contact me about. I received no relief with these issues. Here’s the review or should I say Complaints: Room was hot humid, LOUD A/C sounded like a Pratt and Whitney aircraft turbine at take off. Had to turn it off and deal with the humidity. It (the AC) was probably keeping the people upstairs and downstairs awake too. Filthy bathroom floor (looked like someone spilled juice or something sticky and walked in it) all around the base of the commode. This was discovered at check in 1630 hours. Shampoo, conditioner, soap dispenser (in a locked rack inside shower stall) were completely empty. I asked the clerk at the desk for body wash/soap to replace the empty ones in shower. She handed me a bottle of “body lotion/which was used/half empty/with soap crud on the dispenser tip”. I told her that the bottle she gave me was actually body lotion, and it was not body wash. She rolled her eyes (while texting someone on her phone), and said, “that is all we have”. While I was walking back to our room on the second floor, I met Gina (my wife) who was going downstairs (on the elevator), and I asked her where she was going. Gina said the toilet in our room won’t fill or flush, so she was going to the lobby to use the restroom. So I go back to the room to check it out. The toilet flapper/float assembly was broken, and commode was completely not operational. Where the coffee maker was in my room, the sugar/creamer packets which were supposed to be sealed was open and strewn about the table. There were bugs (dead) in the bathroom light fixtures, and a bug resembling a TZE TZE fly was in the sink. The beds were made, but looked like the room was half cleaned and then ignored by housekeeping. I went back to the desk to report the broken toilet, the filth on the floor, and the unstocked

What a bizarre experience. The front desk clerk got into some kind of a verbal altercation with someone while breakfast was being served nearby. She kept screaming, “You don’t talk to me that way.” I didn’t see who,she was fighting with and could only hear muffled voices of other people, but the clerk was angry and wanted everybody to know it. The yelling ebbed and flowed for 20-30:minutes until the police came. Very unnerving!

When checking in, there were two young people in regular clothes, not very professional and not very courteous either. They gave me the room key and that was it. I was just left standing there. No directions towards elevators. They seem as though they were filling in. In the morning, people were slamming doors and running and talking loudly in the hallways. No consideration.

If you have a room with a king bed, the rooms are much nicer than the rooms with two beds. I had a room with a king bed and the room was comfortable, the air conditioner worked and the room was clean. The rate quoted to me was $150 + tax and I was told there was a $25 service charge that I would get back. I did not get back the $25. Not sure why, I did not take anything from the room, did not break anything, just slept and showered, left a tip and was on my way. My total charge was $185.

Wall vents in hall filthy. No kleenex in the kleenex holder Looks like old hotel with LIPSTICK! Not impressed! Air conditioners are old Room was unlocked when I checked in. Didn’t like that at all. I really expected more out of a HOLIDAY INN!!
