DO NOT STAY HERE! Their customer service is awful! Our family was on a roadtrip traveling from Michigan to Florida and we booked here on July 6th, 2024. We checked in at 7:30pm. Upon entering the room, it had a bad smell. I asked my husband to turn on the a/c to cold because the room was hot and smelly. We started taking showers since we had been on the road for 13 hours. At 9pm, after we had all taken showers we noticed the room was not cooling, the a/c was blowing warm air. I went down to the office to tell them that the a/c was not blowing cold air and asked if we can be switched to a different room with a working a/c. The man at the front desk proceeded to ask me if I "USED THE ROOM". Of course we used the room, we had checked in an hour and a half before. What kind of question is that?? So he proceeded to tell me "Since you have used the room already I cannot move you to another room". I then asked if we could get a refund to go to a different hotel and his response was " I can try to find a fan for you or I can see if the maintenance man will come in on his day off to look at the a/c". He then said he would come to our room to let me know if maintenance will be coming. About a half an hour passes and he comes to our door, tells us that maintenance will not be coming and then opens the a/c unit himself, fiddles with some wires, closes it and tells my husband that it might cool down a little more but all the rooms in the entire hotel have that temperature limit on the a/c units and he can feel that it is cold. This unit looked to be at least 30 years old and was NOT working. After he left it kept making loud noises, going on and off and DID NOT COOL DOWN. By 11pm, I was sweating all over, all 3 of my kids were hot, sweating and complaining that they could not fall asleep, WE ARE FLORIDIANS, that's how hot it was!! I then called the office, asked if he had found a fan because it was not cooling down, he said no and there was nothing he could do. I decided we had enough and we were not going to stay in that torture. We packed back up, went to the office and my husband checked out. It was around shift change and the man we had dealt with was leaving. The new worker that had come in promised my husband a refund the next day and that he could not do it when we were there because he had to wait for the system to change over to the next day before he could process the refund. It has now been 2 days and we have not received a refund or any calls apologizing from either the property manager or the owner. This is a Franchise location with the owners name plastered all over the wall and notices on the windows. He is BOLD for letting his name be known while doing business how he does. HE SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HIMSELF!!! It was not our fault that the a/c was not working, they should have put us in a new room with a working a/c and avoided all this, that would have been the right thing to do as a human.
