This motel was a pleasant surprise. We had planned to stay in Bar Harbor while visiting Acadia NP, but no affordable rooms were available for our travel dates. We ended up at Eagle's Lodge where the room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful, and affordable restaurants were only a few minutes away. The simple breakfast offerings were too meager for us, but that was no problem with good diners nearby. Adding a restaurant bill to the motel's daily rate was still far more affordable than a room in Bar Harbor during foliage season. I'd be pleased to return here the next time I visit the area. A note on traffic: there are certain times of day when Route 3 onto Mount Desert Island becomes congested; keep an eye on your navigation app for traffic alerts.

I rated this a 3 simply because of the price compared to other hotels in the area. It has an overall rating of 4 on trip advisor and in comparison to other hotels with a 4 I was very disappointed in the hotel. Breakfast was nothing but coffee, hot chocolate and a bowl of cereal. The room was ok but I did not feel like it was overly clean. I would not stay here again if I could other reasonable accommodations. They should not even say breakfast is included.

Not a bad place to stay. Very close to many shops and restaurants. Plenty of free parking. Just be careful...the motel is located on a one-way street, so do not turn the wrong way when you leave. Prices were competitive with other motels in the area. Staff was very friendly. Free breakfast is VERY simple. My biggest complaint was the TV. The signal kept freezing every 10 seconds, making it pretty much unwatchable. Beds were also very firm. Otherwise not a bad place to stay.

Enjoyed my stay with two dogs during a recent extreme heatwave. The room was exceptionally clean with strong A/C. The price is a fraction of what I would have payed in Bar Harbor or one of the chain hotels in Ellsworth. Breakfast is OK, but would be so much better with microwave Jimmy Dean sausage and egg biscuits or Grandys of Maine oatmeal cups. Then again, with all the money you will save you can eat breakfast out and still save considerably. The GM, Charity was there to assist with any questions or needs. I will stay in the future without hesitation.

This is a very nice motel; and as important the service is above and beyond. Night clerk was willing to help us twice regarding an issue, completely pleasant attitude. Nice breakfast, FRESH coffee all day, big rooms and most importantly, great shower.

Don’t let the pool photo fool you. We arrived on a hot, sunny afternoon and found the pool covered in a canvas tarp. The toilet in our room was not properly secured to the floor. The bolts were rusted out, and the toilet wobbled when you would sit on it. Carpets, mattresses etc were old and worn. On the plus side, it’s dog friendly and there’s a good size grassy field in back where you can exercise your pooch. Location is convenient if you want to be near Walmart and Home Depot. Property has zero charm. Why did we stay there? A friend who lives in the area said whatever you do, don’t stay in Bar Harbor. I hadn’t been to Bar Harbor for some 25 years, though I liked it perfectly well back then. I took my friend’s word that it had gotten to be a madhouse. It hasn’t, in my opinion — it’s just as nice now as it used to be. So if we go to that area again, we’ll stay in Bar Harbor as opposed to Ellsworth.

We liked the room. It was convenient. We put out the "make up room" sign at 6:30 AM Wednesday January 31st 2023. We returned around 4:30PM. The staff never made any attempt to make up the room. The staff person at the front desk said that I hung the sign out at 1:30 PM and that's why I didn't get maid service. She wasn't here. She told me a lie. Hers or someone else's, I can't tell. I was given towels and that's all.

I have to admit that, when we pulled into the parking lot, I thought we had made a mistake. However, appearances can be deceptive. Lovely, friendly reception staff (two ladies) who provided us with a local dining guide. Our room was on the first floor at the top of the stairs. Whilst the stairs could have done with a vacuum, the room was perfectly clean and the bed was comfortable. Amazing value for money with a fridge and microwave in the room and a complimentary continental breakfast. They even had dairy free milk alternatives for the cereal (a first for me in the USA). The hotel is well placed for visiting Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

Overall we were pleased and felt the price was reasonable. The staff were pleasant. We had a large, clean, quiet room with comfortable beds, a large dresser with plenty of storage space, a rack with hangers, wi-fi, microwave and fridge. The bathroom area was small but not cramped, with thick towels and extra soap and shampoo. The breakfast area was roomy and pleasant. Breakfast was basic but adequate for us: a variety of prepackaged cold cereals and oatmeal, donuts, coffee, tea, juice. The hall carpet could use a cleaning but the carpet in our room was fine. At any rate, there was no unpleasant odor as we've sometimes experienced elsewhere. Also, a larger, more visible sign would be helpful, as the entrance off High Street is a bit tricky to see in advance.
