Kimpton Mas Olas Resort and Spa

What a lovely, gorgeous, laid back place Mas Olas is. I took my two adult children for New Years break. The food was so fresh and DELICIOUS. CHEF Sandro Falbo is a force and the glue of this resort. This vivacious approach to the food, gardens, and service are really special. Also, the grounds were so beautiful. The gardens were magical and the rest of the report was just sublime. I will go back!

The Mas Olas property is quite gorgeous, with an amazing ocean scene, and bonus…. a beautiful garden!! And We got a fabulous upgrade to room with a hottub on the deck with an incredible beach and sunset view! This is a place to come seriously chill. It’s very very quiet - welcome for this couple after staying in noisy Cabo with our kids earlier in the week. We were coming from Paradero which had been really disappointing so we were very very excited to stay at this Kimpton. 5 stars for the yoga teacher this past Thursday. She also worked the gym in the morning- she was lovely. Also the check in process was great and big thank you to Victor and the reception team. They were wonderful, sweet, and I’m very grateful they could offer us an early check in and upgrade. Much appreciated! Be prepared and Know It’s at the end of a long rough dirt road so rent a car, and be prepared to walk a lot so bring your Fitbit:) and enjoy the gym and spa! Lots of dirt paths so don’t pack high heels. I would just say for the price that service should feel over the top 5 star luxury. And it just didn’t. It did not feel like there was much staff around, they answered about 75% of the what’s app questions, they did not come to the chairs in front of the pool to take any drink orders etc. And while I dont expect any special treatment - typically a hotel of this caliber might send an amenity for an anniversary while I had what’s apped about ahead of time and told several people upon arrival. The QR code for the room service was beside the bed, so we made our order plan and only after calling to order our found out that room service menu that day was not available, and instead that it was from the Botanica restaurant that day, which meant not even guac and chips were an option. That restaurant and Kahal (closed that night) both look like gorgeous places to eat and like super fine dining - sometimes tho you just want a quesadilla and guac and to chill in room (note this stay is about total quiet and relaxing/ there are no tv’s in the room). So having no other choice we did end up ordering room service From botanica - the shrimp pizza is good, the sausage potato one not so much. The seafood fish taco was also excellent. We were just feeling like food was pretty limited options that night. My husband had breakfast the next morning and I had Lunch at Centro- both were ok, but not wow. We were scheduled for 3 nights but left after 1. Overall I’d say Mas Olas is a solid 4 for the holiday high pricing. FYI - If you are willing to leave to go off property go eat at Pescadero 62 thats 9 minutes away for dinner and Tequila Sunrise for lunch in Todo Santos- and go to Baja Pirates for incredible driving - like a once in a lifetime experience!!

Mas Olas is simply incredible! I had the most beautiful holiday weekend celebrating my birthday here, and everything was absolutely perfect. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I had stepped into paradise. The rooms are stunning—spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. The views are breathtaking, with the ocean stretching endlessly before you. There are so many pools to choose from, each more beautiful than the last, and the entire property is immaculate. The service at Mas Olas is unmatched. Every staff member is warm, attentive, and eager to make your stay unforgettable. The food is another highlight—absolutely delicious, with every meal feeling like a special occasion. The hotel’s garden is a peaceful oasis, and the spa is a true gem. The massage therapists are incredibly skilled—some of the best I’ve ever experienced. I can’t recommend them enough! Another amazing touch is the complimentary sound baths and morning yoga sessions. These added so much relaxation and balance to my stay—such a thoughtful offering for guests. Mas Olas truly has it all. It’s the perfect destination for anyone looking to relax, celebrate, or simply enjoy life. I can’t wait to return and highly recommend it to everyone!

Mas Olas is a treasure. From the moment we crossed the threshold into this breathtaking resort, our experience felt thoughtful and intentional. The vibe is both attentive and relaxed. Amidst the curated landscaping and nine interconnected gardens, you find beautiful spaces to relax for a moment or hours. The food is as fabulous as everyone says it is. Chef's kiss for Chef Sandro! DO NOT MISS the three ceviches (green, white, and red) at Centro. Order all three. Let the staff at the inventive Botanica choose which freshly picked delights fill your table. We loved our dinner at Kahal so much that we returned the next night. The tuna carpaccio is the best we've tasted. I could list a dozen other delicious dishes off the menu because we just kept ordering. Our excellent sommelier, Marlene, guided us through delicious Mexican wine pairings. We explored beyond the property a couple of times, but our experience at Mas Olas was one perfect, luxurious moment after another. Each of the four pool areas and private beach spaces presents a unique atmosphere celebrating the natural beauty of Baja California Sur. The spa is expansive and intimate. Every day included a steam, sauna, and dip in the plunge pool or hot tub. We loved our comfortable, well-appointed room and the day bed on our private balcony. (Wake up at sunrise and move out to the day bed, where you may catch sight of whales migrating under the early morning light.) The heart of Mas Olas is its staff, and they genuinely set this resort apart. An overall essence of kindness and friendship permeates the property. There are no strangers here. My friends and I were celebrating a 50th birthday. I mentioned this once before arriving, and they manifested commemorative touches throughout our week. We cannot thank you enough for your attention and care: Leonardo, Scarlett, William, Fermin, Juan, Joseph, Fernando, Tony, Francisco, Manuel, Marlene, Christian, Chef Sandro, and the fabulous Alondra! Double thanks to everyone I missed; you are stars. I'm thrilled we looked beyond Cabo and found Mas Olas. It's our new annual girls trip.

Kimpton hotels accept pets at ALL their locations. This hotel (a Kimpton property) does not. The website does not mention this "no pet" policy. Arrived after a very long travel day to discover we could not stay there with our pet and our friends were also turned away for the same reason. We booked a Kimpton property specifically for its pet accepance policy. This is not acceptable, simply put it on your website that you do not accept pets.

The ambiance of this property is unmatched. From the rooms (upgraded to a king oceanview penthouse with plunge pool!), to the spacious grounds, landscaping and gardens, to the proud and helpful staff, to the incredible fresh food. Total peace, comfort and relaxation. This is our new go-to resort in Mexico. We have already booked our next trip.
