Explora en Rapa Nui - All Inclusive

If you really want to make the most of Rapa Nui stay here. There was absolutely nothing I had to worry about. My only "concern" was to choose which excursion I wanted for the day. Guides are local which makes a difference and helps understand such a special place and culture.

First of all, I would give 5 stars except for one flaw that I found. The guides, who are generally knowledgeable and very good, sometimes seem to focus on the Spanish- speaking guests to the exclusion of non-Spanish speakers. This can make for an uncomfortable and less than informative tour for those who don't speak Spanish. The hotel is beautiful and comfortable. The food and wines were excellent, as were all of the service staff. There were a variety of excursions to choose from, and the staff tried to tailor your choices to your interests and physical abilities. Nathalie was one tour leader who deserved 5 stars. She is a Rapa Nui native who knew a lot about her island's culture and history. She made the tour extremely interesting for all involved. She divided her time between the groups by language, so that no one missed out. She also tried to accommodate the desires of different groups. At Anakena Beach, some in our party wanted to swim and some did not. She made sure that we all had time to do what we wanted and kept everyone informed. It was the best tour offered at this hotel, so ask for Nathalie if you can.

I had an incredible 5 days at Explora, everything exceeded expectations. The guides were amazing, with so much historical and local knowledge. Food, accommodations and service were exceptional. The staff were friendly and went above and beyond. Highly recommend and look forward to my next explora adventure.

We visited Explora Rapa Nui in May of 2024 for 4 days. The resort lived into its reputation of being a luxury all inclusive, including all of the guided experiences around the island. The room was rustic but very comfortable. The food was excellent. All of the guides were terrific. I would definitely suggest, reading up on the history of Rapa Nui prior to visiting (we did not) as this will help contextualize the various sites you will visit. The only thing that we feel Explora could do better is to bring some the cultural experience back to the lodge, with maybe some dance and or music.

Not much to repeat when you read others. Yes the price tag seems steep, but when you factor in the quality of food and alcohol, plus the great excursions that you pick in terms of location and mode of transport then you are not saving much if you book smaller places in Rapa Nui (or other remote locales that Explora has a place in). Service was amazing and the dinning staff works long shifts (there and ready for breakfast at 730am and still there when dinner ends around 1030pm!!!!!!) many days in a row.....So HUGE KUDOS to them .... Excursions were great, though heavily focused on hikes. And guides vary from great to ok, despite the interview/training process that Explora uses to hire them (I was able to have long conversations with one of them in Atacama during a long excursion) OVerall, i would only recommend staying here in Rapa Nui for the complete experience

An absolute treasure! Fourth generation hotel in the heart of Hanga Roa. Perfect location w/easy walkability to anything w/in 10 minutes. Sebastian, Marie and the entire Hare Nua staff were exceptional. Always there to meet us w/a warm smile and loved seeing us enjoying this incredible island. The hotel itself is well appointed w/gorgeous common spaces and an awesome garden in the courtyard. The courtyard has a cute plunge pool and new hot tub. The rooms themselves were great. Very comfortable beds, AC and hot shower. The daily breakfast was a treat and beautifully displayed. Don’t think twice, this is where you want to stay.
