My experience had so many levels of bad, it was ludicrous. Stay away from this hotel even if it's the last available hotel. Unfortunately I had to book it because my usual hotels were booked out. The lifts are slow, and hardly operational. The doors have a mind of their own. We got to our room 809 and immediately the stench hit us. The room was carpeted, which is a relic of the past because it's now known as a hive for dust mites and whatever else that can give you allergies. I dread to know what else was in those carpets, but my whole family had to take allergy tablets. We stayed away for most of the time but when we slept there, we had terrible allergies by the morning. We could not change the room due to it being the last available. The hotel is next to a very noisy part of the city and people are screaming outside and revving their cars all night, so good luck sleeping. The bathroom was hardly functional. One tap worked, the toilet was leaking, the water was lukewarm and the bath/shower curtains don't hang far enough down the bath, therefore sticking to you when you try to "shower" in the bath. The final slap in the face was when I got to the parking. My car was clamped! I eventually got back to reception who told me that I didn't pay for parking. Now on check-in I was not told I had to pay for parking! If I was told, I would gladly have paid. So I went through all the frustration of getting my car unclamped just for R80 parking fees. So I left to my function in a bad frame of mind. The best part of the hotel was I just had to endure one night. Did I mention that the room's carpet was filthy and stinky and the furniture too? STAY AWAY from this hellhole!!!
