We had a quick 2 nights stay with two young kids on a family vacation trip in October. Overall this is a great hotel with spacious rooms and everything we needed. ***Location and Parking*** The hotel is next to highway 160 in the south side of the town. It is about 3 miles south of Durango downtown area. There seems to be a small shopping mall across the highway 160, we didn’t need to go, only remember seeing TJ Maxx there, no grocery store or restaurant. So, you will definitely need vehicle to go anywhere. Durango is a very small town, so where you stay does not really matter as long as it is a good quality hotel. Parking is very tight at night even during the off-peak season like October when we were there. ***Facility and Room*** This is a newer looking facility although it is 10 years old. The facility has been very well maintained with pretty much everything in good working order. We had a one-bedroom suite, which is very spacious comparing to a standard hotel room. There are probably very few one-bedroom suites as when we checked in there was only one available. Most suites here do not have separate bedroom (no wall between living area and the beds) as we saw, so they are not called one-bedroom suite. You can see which room is bigger in size in the floor map on the Hilton app. The suite has kitchen area where you can actually cook if you want, it has dishwasher, full size refrigerator, full size microwave, etc. The living room and bedroom each has its own TV, so our kids could watch something differently while we watched something else, which was nice. The only complain we had was the huge air conditioning roof top unit outside our 3rd floor window, it is the AC unit for the lobby/dining hall, and it is very loud when it is on. We were glad it was not on during night since it was very cool at night in October already, and we didn’t stay inside room during the day when it runs. So, if you have a choice, do not pick any 3rd floor south facing room. ***Wifi*** It is worth to note the wifi here in the facility is weak/spotty/intermittent. I do not usually review this for hotels nowadays as almost all hotels have good wifi networks. In our room, we lost network every several minutes. This might be a problem if you have to have continuous and consistent wifi (for work/meeting/etc.). ***Hot Breakfast*** Hot breakfast is definitely a plus when you have young kids, so you don’t need to look for breakfast every morning. This hotel has the typical simple “hot breakfast” that Hilton offers at this hotel’s star level. Simple things but sufficient and good enough. The breakfast area was very crowded in the morning for both days we were there. The first day was great with everything under control and items got refilled quickly. The second day was not so good with most of the items running out and not being refilled. Not sure why the two days were so different. ***Staff*** Hotel staffs are great in general. Front desk
