Woke up to no water in our room - zip, nada. Went down to the front desk after they didn't pick up my call (no surprise, figured they were "swamped"). Lobby was about 55 degrees. Very cold Chicago weekend, and they had a water pipe burst. Water restored in fairly after a while - all in all, these things happen. The lobby and dining room stayed quite frigid during our two night stay. These things happen. The bar manager was great...wonderful and charming man. Front desk and restaurant staff was excellent - really great people. Warm, friendly and tried to make the best of the situation. I hoped, and asked the front desk, for some compensation - points maybe, etc. Here's the bad...I never heard back from the hotel manager - tried a few times, left my email and phone number, etc. The good - I ended up finally calling the Hilton Complaint line after 12 days of no response - and they were very gracious and provided some points to smooth things over. Good for Hilton. Overall the property is nice - good value - good quality. Just a bit of rough sledding for our stay.
