Hotel location is lovely set off the road behind a riding school and the staff are friendly You have to pay for your meals as you go along as you cannot add anything to your hotel bill. Water, biscuits and face cloth were not consistently replenished

I stayed at the hotel on Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th July, and on Wednesday morning was served a bacon sandwich with mould, unfortunately I had eaten some of the bread before noticing it! When I raised this with staff, they were very apologetic and asked if I wanted another sandwich. To be honest surprised me as why would I want more food considering the concerns I had just raised. Eating mould including allergic reactions and the latest e-coli scare has highlighted the need for food safety, and their last inspection rated food safety as Generally satisfactory, this does not seem the case. Considering that this is basic food safety and hygiene it makes me question what standard the rest of the food was I ate at your hotel? I also had breakfast on Monday, Avocado on Toast, and during the day I had an upset stomach, which I was not sure of the cause, but after this morning’s breakfast it’s a possibility it may have been your food. In respect of how my complaint was dealt with, staff were very apologetic but did not seem to understand the implications or seriousness of what I was telling them. I felt nauseous, which I am not if it is the thought of what I may have eaten, from the food itself or both. As the staff didn't appear to be concerned with the issue I had raised, I contacted the hotel directly on Wednesday via their website - which they haven't responded to. Overall, a great looking place, good rooms and location but their food hygiene and how guests concerns are treated is very poor.

Poor experience Sorry to say but I had a terrible meal. Cost was £22 for a Caesar salad with no dressing or parmesan. Chicken was poor and tasteless. Main meal was almost same size as starter. Definitely won’t return and I would not recommend to others

Fabulous fabulous fabulous. Food was exquisite, staff from bar to table were attentive, polite and service was exemplary. We had a gorgeous meal, both chose steak which was to die for. My friend had the brownie which was rich, velvety & melt in your mouth and I had the caramalised custard tart which was just perfect! Being locals we have eaten here quite a few times but was really excited to try now Rob is on board & we were absolutely blown away. Thank you for a fabulous evening.

Comfortable , well equipped and tastefuly furnished new rooms along with friendly and efficient service on our second visit . Dinner was excellent and “cooked to order “ breakfast a welcome change from bland buffet style breakfasts . Lively vibe in the busy public areas along with extensive well maintained grounds contributed to an enjoyable stay

I held my baby shower here last weekend, from start to finish Debbie, the sales & events planner was incredible! Not only did she show great communication (responding promptly to my constant perfectionist emails) she also made sure that everything ran smoothly on the day. The staff on the day were also brilliant, especially Dan who oversaw the whole day. I had booked music room 1 which accommodates my 24 adults and 5 child guests perfectly. Happy customer & will be booking my wedding here! Ps the kids loved their candy floss deserts!

My partner and I attended a wedding at Hogarths on August 12, 2024. The bride and groom clearly invested a great deal in the food and decor arranged through external companies, which were both outstanding. However, there was an unfortunate ceiling leak on the day, which was quite disappointing, especially given the significant effort they put into the event. I hope this issue has been addressed, as the venue itself is lovely, but the service that day did not meet the high standards I’ve come to expect.

Just wanted to say thank you for our afternoon tea experience today (7 Aug) - everything was lovely, staff were really pleasant and efficient, it was ideal for a special occasion. Particularly impressed that scones were indeed freshly baked (and warm!).

We have just attended a friends wedding at Hogarths and have to say that everything was perfect. From our arrival on Thursday to our departure Saturday morning, the staff were warm, friendly and attentive. Our room was lovely, clean and comfortable. Food, drinks and service were excellent. The wedding itself was efficiently organised and went completely without a hitch. The buried sausage delivered the weather every newly wed couple dream of for their big day. My wife and I have visited many hotels throughout the world during our careers, with varying levels of service, cleanliness and staff but I am pleased to say that that our stay at Hogarths was one of the most enjoyable and memorable.
