Once again, Big 8 has managed to disappoint. Being the only hotel in Digos City seems to have fostered a sense of complacency that's evident in every aspect of their service. Room Conditions: The room was in a state of disrepair, with fixtures literally rotting away from the walls. Basic amenities like complimentary coffee or tea are no longer provided, despite the presence of a tea kettle in the room. Requests for additional towels went unanswered for days. Housekeeping was non-existent during our 3-day stay. Service and Communication: Calls to the front desk (0) were either unanswered or took an absurdly long time to be answered. Room service was a disaster, with orders consistently misunderstood. The restaurant staff struggled with basic English communication, making dining a frustrating experience. Facilities: The pool, while a nice feature, is rendered unusable due to its location in the shade and lack of heating. The gym, while functional, is below average. Overall Impression: This hotel doesn't even deserve a single star. The service is abysmal, the staff is untrained, and the overall experience is one of frustration and disappointment. The blame lies squarely with the owner, who seems to prioritize cost-cutting over providing a quality experience. The lack of proper training and likely disciplinary actions for minor infractions have created a demoralized staff with a negative service attitude. Digos City desperately needs a better hotel option. Big 8's decline is evident, and it's now the worst hotel I've ever had the misfortune of staying in.
