Holiday Inn Express Dandridge

We stopped at this nice little hotel during our travels. We were just traveling through, but it is close to Dollywood. We arrived late, but the staff was very helpful and prepared for our arrival. We were traveling with our dog and they were very helpful with instructions on where to walk her and to get in and out of the hotel for her walks. The extra charge for having our dog stay with us was a little on the expensive side. Not that it affected us, but they only accept dogs. The morning breakfast was also very good. The gravy and eggs were very good. The biscuits could have been a little better, but I’ve had plenty at HIE hotels that are much worse. It may have been the time of year, but you really must have a reservation. When we arrive they were already sold out and only accepting reservations.

My husband had a room block code that we forgot to enter when we made the reservation, the woman who checked us in assured us that was no problem and her manager could fix it the next day, but when we approached the manager the following day she was annoyed and short with us. She cut my husband off mid-sentence and when I spoke up she rolled her eyes at me and told us because our reservation was made through IHG she wasn't going to do anything to fix it. I was astonished at how rude she was and because of her behavior I would never stay at or recommend this location to anyone. To make matters worse the yogurts they were serving for breakfast all week were over a week expired which I unfortunately didn't realize until after feeding my infant son one. On our last morning there I checked and they were still serving them, this is basic food safety that was disregarded. Horrible location. There were also ants crawling along the floorboard of our room which was disturbing when we had a baby and toddler crawling around in our room. The shower drain was also clogged.

We paid $179.00 for our room. When I got to the room, the evacuation plan on the door stated Maximum Room Rate is $130.00 and they won't refund the difference. Corporate won't help, they told me I had to take it up with the franchise property. The manager of the property won't give me a refund and no one will give me the property owner's information. And I can't get past Customer Relations at Corp to get any information. The room and property were very nice and clean. It took two days to get home, I checked the next hotel rooms Evac Plan and their Max Room Rate was $899.00. So, other hotels know the importance of having these updated whether it's in season or not. I'm just sick and tired of big corporations knowing they don't have to be held accountable for much of anything anymore.

This is a full step down in quality from the usual Holiday Inn Express. If you can, stay at a motel closer to Knoxville. It was okay. No big problems, but not as good as expected. It took a couple of tries to get a room that didn't adjoin another. The parking lot is too small and was filled with pickup trucks pulling trailers.

My husband and I stayed here for our Anniversary trip to Gatlinburg. We are loyal IHG customers silver level. Worst experience we ever had at an IHG hotel. Poor customer service. Staff is not friendly or attentive. Breakfast is gross. Addressed issues with GM and she basically called me a liar. Would not recommend.

We've had some questionably experiences with Holiday Inns in previous years, but this one (though under renovation at the time we stayed here) is top-shelf. Clean, comfy rooms. Beds were outstanding. Hot water in the shower and a microwave and a fridge at our disposal. The breakfast in the lobby was terrific and the staff was VERY accommodating. One of our best nights on the trip. Thanks!

I have stayed here 15+ nights this year. This is a lower end HIE location but the staff is a 10. Completely dedicated, friendly, and helpful. Location is also very convenient to Pigeon Forge and Smokey Mtn. . Also good for UT Football games. Small outdoor pool and breakfast good. The workout room has 1 treadmill, an elliptical, and another unit. Also free weights and bench. Good place to walk outdoors for exercise. Bothe ice machines are “Out of Order”. Did I say staff was a 10? And the rooms are clean and mattresses are comfortable.

The lady working the front desk July 16th, 2022 evening/night shift came to the pool and announced to our group "the pool closes at 10pm and I need you to clear the area." That wasn't the issue because we left when she asked. There was a couple out there that didn't leave. When I advised her that there were two more people out there she went out and came back saying "they were actually in the pool and they're drying off", its now 10:20pm. I peeked out at the pool and they were sitting at the table drinking. I said something to her again at 10:30pm and she went back out. I heard her tell them "I'm sorry but" and she started whispering so that I couldn't hear the rest of the conversation. Also, when we first arrived she immediately closed the breakfast area so that we couldn't sit in there. When we came in from the pool she had it open for a group of people to play cards. I asked if we could sit in there she said "no we have quiet hours from 10pm to 6am I'm about to ask them to leave" this was after 10pm. She wasn't going to ask them to leave if I hadn't said anything to her. We didn't any issues with the rest of the staff.

If I could leave a negative star I would. We woke up eat up from head to toe with bed bug bites. Had to go to the ER. The bites gave us a staph infection. I told the general manager. She could care less. She wouldn't fill out a report and has yet to call me back! The night shift lady was just as rude when I asked when the manager would contact me. This is beyond a terrible experience!! Found dried blood stains on the sheets. STAY AWAY!!
