My darling bride and partner in our business went to The Joule for a much needed mini-vacation. We had tickets to see YES at the Dickie Arena in Ft Worth but wanted to extend this trip. Rather than stay nearby in Ft Worth, we decided on The Joule (spoiler alert! It was wonderful). Pulling up to the hotel in downtown Dallas, they only have valet... Nobody drives my car (plus it's a manual). The valet guy (and our first contact) was Jimmy. He was completely understanding and extremely helpful. Very unusual for valet guys (believe me, I've managed luxury hotels for over 40 years). When checking in, we were warmly greeted by Luz. She was fantastic, but it gets better. One big reason for staying here was the rooftop pool, on our way downstairs we checked the pool and it was totally crowded with no place to sit (it was Sunday afternoon). So after getting settled we took our car to the lot Jimmy suggested. When returning to the hotel we told Luz there was nowhere for us, poolside. She said she would check with the pool staff and as soon as there was an open spot she would call us in our room. This is a key moment! I haven't seen that type of recovery and anticipation in a long, long time... She called and we headed to the pool. Mahmoud greeted us and led us to two freshly made up lounge chairs. The pool was rocking but we felt "served". The room was great, linens fresh and inviting, room layout was gorgeous, very cool. Service at breakfast in "CBD" was great both days, Eric did a good job attending to our "no carbs" diet. Highly recommended and we will definitely come back!
