Review of Coral and Coco Vacation Rental Company: A Nightmare Experience I wish I could give Coral and Coco zero stars. Our experience with this vacation rental company was nothing short of a nightmare from the moment we checked in. Upon arrival at their condo, we were horrified to find ants and cockroaches crawling around. When we reported ants, they gave us a bottle of pesticide with a foreign label and told us to “spray it and leave for a while.” We were uncomfortable using such toxic chemicals, especially in an unventilated space, but they insisted it was fine, saying, "We've done this before." When we later mentioned the roaches, their lack of surprise made it clear they deal with these complaints often. It was disgusting and absolutely unacceptable for what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation. The customer service we received was abysmal right from the start. Instead of offering a full refund or a proper resolution, they only gave us the option to move to another unit within the same property. Do they not realize that if one unit is infested, the rest of the building likely is too? This was a completely useless solution. When we pressed for a refund, Coral and Coco seemed to try everything to avoid giving us our money back. Their next "solution" was to move us to a different property they managed, but this place was cheaper and didn't even compare to the condo we originally rented. It lacked the same accommodations, and frankly, it felt like they were trying to pass off an inferior property just to make us go away. In the end, they only offered to refund 50% of the accommodations cost—excluding taxes, fees, and other charges—so we wouldn’t even get back what we paid! Faced with losing even more money, we reluctantly agreed to move to another property that was at least somewhat close to what we originally booked. But, of course, this property had no parking for our rental car, adding another layer of inconvenience to an already awful situation. To make matters worse, after we finally agreed to take the alternative property, they informed us that we had taken too long to decide and would have to wait until the next day because housekeeping was already finished for the day. Really? We were waiting to hear back about the refund and were never informed that there was a time frame to make our decision. This felt like just another tactic to make our experience as miserable as possible. In the end, we just asked for the 50% refund and took the loss rather than continue dealing with this horrible company. I strongly advise anyone considering Coral and Coco to stay far, far away. They manage many vacation rental properties in Curacao so look out for their name. They have listings on many travel booking sites. They are very tricky. The lack of cleanliness, poor accommodations, and terrible customer service made this one of the worst vacation experiences we've ever had. Save yourself the headache and book somewhere else.
