Cooma High Country Motel

Great value friendly staff. Motel located away from main road. Quite room over looking the Cooma showground and Cooma bowling club. Comfortable bed. Recently renovated room. Close to showground for twilight Rodeo. We will be back. Highly recommend.

Motel is under extensive renovations and the driveway, parking, and grounds are a work in progress. If that is an issue for you, you need to recondier. It wasn't for us. The gracious receptionist worked to meet our specific room requests. Our room was not one of the recently-renovated units but was very spacious with a comfortable bed and an abundance of towels. Facilities including mini-fridge, kettle, and microwave. Wallabies just outside the window at twilight. Excellent views from the large picture window. This motel will be better and better as renovations continue. Would definitely like to return. The motel is also only a few Kilometres from Mt. Gladstone lookout with its amazing views and abundant wildlife. Excellent value for money.

An excellent value quiet Motel. Located well away from Cooma's main road. Sharon at reception welcomed us with the key to one of the recently renovated rooms with an awesome view across the valley to the Cooma Bowling Club. Beautifully, appointed room with king bed, medium size fridge, huge flat screen TV, microwave, 2 element cook top and large ensuit. Definitely we'll be back.

Room had two queens and single and hot shower and while the motel is old it was cosy, warm, clean and beds were very comfortable. Owner was very welcoming and accomodating- Hard to park small car but motel being upgraded- highly recommend if travelling with kids and well priced

The Cooma High Country Motel is in the middle of renovating its rooms. So it was really nice to be offered an upgrade to a new room for a few $more. My new room was lovely with a massive TV, everything brand new, double glazing, Netflix & kitchenette. The manager was super friendly & nothing was too much. When I had problems connecting to the wi-fi he popped out into the cold to sort it. The main building has a large lounge, pool table, table tennis table, reading area with a community library & a large fire place. During snow season they’ll also have a bar & restaurant. The site is more like a ski resort than a hotel with a lot of rooms spread all over the site & a small walk to the main building. A nice touch was having car ports undercover, especially with icy nights. Management could consider storage racks for skis inside or outside rooms? Also, internal clothes storage is limited?

I needed a place for the night as I was travelling from Sydney to Melbourne. I found this place that was reasonably priced. The Receptionist was friendly and helpful. She put me up in a room that was larger. She said it was in the part of the Motel that is not renovated yet but it had a good view. I found it clean, tidy and it was spacious. It had a small fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. The bed I used was comfortable and the shower had hot water. The only downfall was that in the morning, I could hear the sound of a blowfly. I tried to find how it had gotten in and found some dead blowfly's on the window sill. I couldn't see any holes or gaps in the window when I had a brief look. Anyway, I am sure that this will be handled when they complete their renovations as all the windows will be sealed properly or have mesh installed so mozzies/flys etc cannot get in. The Motel is under renovations so there is dirt, gravel etc around but this is to be expected when a place is under renovations. They have a common area with a pool table and a table tennis table. As mentioned earlier, I needed a room for the night and I got one. I have traveled a lot over the years and have stayed in many Hotels/Motels in Australia and overseas. I have stayed in Motels that cost more than this one and had no hot or a TV the size of a computer screen that did not even work properly. This place had it all. Yes, it is under renovations but that will be a good thing for future travelers. It shows the owners are dedicated to making this place worthy of future business. It was also off the beaten track and therefore a nice quiet retreat. Would I stay there again. Yes I would.

Majority of this motel is under construction for renovation. We were sitting outside on the gravel drive surrounded by construction materials in all directions. Our children were playing off to the side where there was no explicit construction bunting and we did not notice they had gone out of site for a few minutes before the manager came around the corner calling our 4/7&8 year old stupid and swearing at them multiple times. He did not come to speak with us and we had to go to the office to speak with them. Where there was a confrontation! No advertising for construction zone on booking! No mention of it on their direct website! Will never stay here again!

I stayed two days for a convention in Cooma. I’ve never been happier with a motel stay! Great staff. All the in-house facilities Needed. They even had an induction cook top. Very very reasonably priced. Like in the eighties when I was a commercial traveller selling opals and pearls. Housekeeping even helped me find a ring I had mislaid. I couldn’t have been happier.

The room was beautiful with a lovely landscape view! It was freshly renovated with a great bathroom, kitchenette, and comfy bed! Everything was so modern and the extra blanket provided was to die for! The staff were very helpful and accomodating! I can’t wait to return
