Hotels in Coimbra mit Pool

This hotel has a really modern vibe which makes it contrast from the old city. I stayed as part of a tour group. The hotel is located near the river and within walking distance to restaurants. There were three issues with my room. The air conditioning controls did not allow you to change the temperature. The up-and-down arrows did nothing. Other members of my group had the same issue. It was too cold. If you left it on - it was very cold. I had to completely turn it off and so did others in my tour group. Also, my TV remote did not work. And lastly my safe would not work (no lights came on when buttons pressed). There was a very good hairdryer, and a make up mirror. Nice towels. The bed was comfy. The view was just of another building but it was quiet and I slept well. The room was clean. There was a refrigerator and coffeemaker in the room. I couldn’t find an indoor stairwell, so I always had to take the elevator. There is a small gym with weights and cardio. The outdoor pool was too cold during my visit. Wi-Fi worked well. The breakfast had tremendous variety. For one or two nights, this hotel would be OK.

A hotel with Vila Gale quality. It didn't have parking included, but it has a small set of spaces that allowed us to park there. The room was very large (we probably had an upgrade) with two huge balconies and a view of the river, and everything in excellent condition. The indoor pool was also quite nice and the outdoor one unfortunately we couldn't go, but it was also impeccable. Breakfast was very varied and plentiful. It has a small flaw, as it is near (at the back) with the train line that passes sporadically during the day. Despite everything, they pass at a reduced speed which does not make much noise. The receptionist was very friendly, and even with the entrance already late at night, he tried to help in changing the reservation to have the best possible price.

Sehr schönes Hotel, es ist ein Herrenhaus. Der kleine Garten des Hotels ist nicht groß, aber sehr empfindlich. Er liegt nicht in der Innenstadt. Ich werde nach dem Fluss zur Universität gehen. Coimbra ist nicht groß.

Silvia was our receptionist and go-to person. She was truly AMAZING! She is a delightful young lady who was our contact person, greeted us, carried our luggage ( the stairs were a bit difficult for me), called taxis for us, brought extra blankets, prepared breakfast, recommended restaurants and sites in Ciombra…there was nothing she wasn’t available to do. She was always smiling and friendly. While the property is on a large piece of land and is farm like it is NOT in the countryside. It is in a suburban area 10-15 minutes from Coimbra. We were specifically attracted to being in the countryside so this was a disappointment. Even with Apple CarPlay, our gps system, we missed the street several times. The name of the street is not well marked. The property is behind a lovely gate and parking is readily available. This was a plus. Our room was very large ( bedroom, separate living room, bathroom, entry space)and had lovely views overlooking the grounds, the pool and distant mountains. We booked on *********** “ Family Room with Balcony” 441 sq/ft. and stayed Sept 29-Oct.1. The room was stylish and very clean with big windows overlooking the grounds. However there were many flaws. There were no glasses for water in the room, no water provided, no conditioner in the shower, no robes or slippers, only 2 very flat pillows, one set of towels. We were offered use of the communal kitchen but this was not inviting. We were shown the refrigerator and told there was a different shelf designated for each room. Too much like a college dorm or work fridge. We could use the kitchen as we wished but did not avail ourselves. Silvia did immediately bring us an extra duvet when we found the room too cold. She did offer to turn the radiators on but we were afraid we would find it too hot.There was no thermostat for us to control. There were enough outlets for adapters and charging cables. We did not expect USB ports as is common in Portugal.wi-fi was good. The worst was the shower. It’s a beautiful walk in with a rain shower but on the first morning my husband had cold water. I had scalding hot then tepid then cold. And yes…we do know how to turn on and adjust the water. On the second morning we both had COLD showers. The hair dryer was terrible…barely dried my short hair. The room was not serviced. We came back after a long day exploring Coimbra to find an unmade bed and wet towels. So we made the bed and used wet towels… The breakfast, again Silvia was the star, was in a small dark room with a buffet selection on a narrow sideboard. There were decent choices…cheeses, bread and good coffee and scrambled eggs. One table was so close to the sideboard we couldn’t access those foods without being rude. We did take taxis into Coimbra . We thankfully had a hotel address card to show drivers for our return trip. Even with that, both drivers had a difficult time finding the property. Fantástica localização , da para ir a pé a universidade para visitar a Biblioteca Joanina e a capela de São Miguel a curta caminhada , por estar mais próximo não há muito morro a subir . Tem estacionamento , não necessita reserva , é gratuito , há elevador a partir da garagem . Quarto confortável , silencioso ,café da manhã de acordo , com boas opções . Os funcionários são destaque , atenciosos e atentos a dificuldade . Tivemos um problema na chegada que a princípio nao havia sido localizado a reserva , mas depois foi localizado . Porém nesse período de checagem agradecemos as funcionárias que nos atenderam no horário da chegada , em especial a Magda que foi proativa em resolver a dificuldade e ter o quarto a nossa disposição juntamente com a garagem .

Das Hotel liegt ca. 15 Minuten außerhalb von Coimbra, mit dem Auto aber kein Problem. Um das Hotel ist aber nichts außer einem kleinen Geschäft kür Einkäufe. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, die Zimmer sehr schön eingerichtet und das Personal sehr freundlich. Bei unserer Ankunft haben wir ein warmes Zimmer erhalten, also erst mal Klimaanlage hochstellen und zum pool. Nach 2 Stunden waren es immer noch 40°C im Zimmer, aber erst mal zur Stadtbesichtigung und der Rezeption Bescheid gegeben, dass die Klimaanlage nicht funktioniert. Nach unserer Rückkehr um 22 Uhr ist es immer noch 40°C also an der Rezeption beschwert. Aussage „Wir haben ein Problem mit der Klimaanlage in einigen Zimmer“. Wenn sie es wissen können sie die Zimmer bei 45°C Außentemperatur nicht vermieten. Zum Glück gab es noch in einem anderen Gebäudetrakt ein Zimmer, wo die Klimaanlage dann funktionierte. Also dann alles wieder eingepackt und umgezogen, das muss nicht sein! Das Frühstück ist gut und für eine Nacht in Ordnung, ohne besonders herauszustechen. Wenn sie die Probleme mit der Klimaanlage haben dürfen sie diese Zimmer im Sommer nicht vermieten, deshalb etwas Abzug in der Bewertung.
