Solo trip over a long weekend, and Golden Palms was a great choice. Pros: - Quiet. This could be because I went during low season, but I twice had the pool to myself in the morning and at night. There was no wait for food, and I had my pick of beach lounges. - Everyone was SUPER friendly, but this is consistent in Costa Rica. - Location is less than 30 minutes from the airport. Also, was closer to Nicaragua for my one day trip there. - Rooms are exactly as pictured, and clean. Beds were made daily, with towels/robes refreshed daily. - Food portions were satisfying. - Property is beautiful upon arrival. I went on a number of tours, and multiple passengers from other hotels commented on how beautiful the property was. - Price was more than fair for where i stayed and the service I received. If back in Papagayo, I'd stay here again, hands down. - Security was checked every time I arrived or left the property. Cons: - Bugs/spiders in the bathroom. I actually didn't complain about this because it didn't bother me, but I can see how it would with other people. - Pool needs cleaning multiple times a day, but wasn't. I'm weird - WEIRD about swimming in a pool with a lot of debris. I did it, but hated doing it. - Restaurant food was ok. It definitely isn't varied. Over my four nights there I tried almost everything, I didn't hate anything. The pancakes I tried the morning I left were delicious, I'd recommend those. - Because the restaurant food isn't exceptional, the location is sort of a negative as well because you're not near anything. You'll have to drive or take a very expensive taxi to eat at other locations. All in all, I enjoyed my time there, and would not only stay again, but recommend it to others looking for an reasonably priced Papagayo/Guanacaste hotel stay

This was my second stay at El Mangroove, and I found it a bit disappointing on both occasions. For the price of this hotel, I would expect the beach that it fronts to be nicer, but the beach is very ”meh” (not the kind of beach with soft sand that one would want to relax on, and there are sand fleas). When I was here in 2018 there were many dead fish along the beach, also. The pools are nice, though enforcement of keeping kids and teens out of the ”adults only” pool was very lax, which made the experience less serene. The food is OK but nothing thrilling, and the dining areas are mostly open air with quite a lot of biting insects. The renovated rooms are nice and spacious, but laid out in an odd way, with hammocks indoors in some rooms in an odd location, no line or place to hang wet swimsuits to dry, and other odd design choices. The gym is tiny and in an outbuilding that is very poorly air conditioned so it is quite hot.

Besessen mit diesem Hotel! Wir blieben vor kurzem und wurden nett auf einem schönen Eckeszimmer vor dem Pazifik-Ozean aufgerüstet, als wir unseren Hochzeitsmonat feiern. Das Bett war so komfortabel mit Tonnen von Kissen, um Ihren Vorzug zu entsprechen. Das Zimmer war unglaublich sauber und das Immobiliendekor ist perfekt. Das Immobilien ist zentral gelegen, um Restaurants und Spazierweiterung zum Danta Beach. Der Dachpool war großartig, nie besetzt und hatte schöne Aussichten auf Las Catalinas. Die Lobbybar & Restaurant waren unsere GO- zu vielen Zeiten während unseres Aufenthalts mit großer Service, und der Kaffeeshop auf der Immobilie war auch gut für einen Morgenkaffeelauf oder schnell grab & go bite. Ich kann dieses Hotel nicht empfehlen, wir hatten eine absolut unglaubliche Zeit während unseres Aufenthalts hier. Ich denke, unsere einzige Beschwerde war kein Trinkservice am Dachpool, aber es ist nicht eine lange Reise in die Lobbybar für einen Cocktail. Eli in der Lobbybar war phänomenal, und die Dame auf dem Vordertisch - ich kann mich nicht an ihren Namen erinnern - aber sie war immer so freundlich und hilfsbereit, erbringt hervorragende Kundenservice.

Sehr schön alles, aber das Geräusch der anderen Zimmer hört sich sehr. Das leckere Frühstück und half mir, es gluten free zu machen
