Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Clear Lake

Would like to see a microwave and refrigerator in the room. The bed was a bit uncomfortable. It was quiet though.

Great place off the highway Close to other places to go Was a next door to walk to the restaurants and get a drink and dinner Versus a DUI

The amenities is a bit old but very clean and the staff is very friendly. The town of Clear Lake is lovely.

Older room with attempts at modern updates. The Good: The night staff was very friendly and attempted to help to the best of their ability. Kudos to them for doing their best with what little resources management gave them. The Bad: Bed : Bedding was fine but bed was sunken in the middle. Pillows were possibly down filled but very flat and uncomfortable. Kitchen: Fridge was not clean! There was a container of food left in the fridge!!! Food spills inside microwave and smudges on exterior of it. Bathroom: Linens were faded and very frayed. Residue left on toiletries that were nearly empty. White soap spots on nearly all wall surfaces. Shower pressure was good, hot but there was standing water when showering and black gunk was coming up from the drain. Vending Machine: No water in beverage machine! Vending machine only had sanitary pads and gum! The front desk associate even showed me the stacks of vending machine products in the office that had yet to be put in the machine after several days. Free Breakfast: Pastries were not individually wrapped and I was hesitant to try after a poor previous night. I did not. Coffee smelled and tasted extremely burnt and I couldn’t finish it because it was so bad. Overall, not a pleasant stay at all. I couldn’t wait to get home with my family.

We’ve been coming to this Microtel for over ten years, several times a year. It has always been inexpensive and clean. However, the last two stays are showing a decline in maintenance. Front desk employees are nice but some can’t encode room keys until they call on the phone to get help. Items in the breakfast area are past best-by date, no napkins, no soap in room, wall paper falling off wall in bathroom. General decay in progress. So sad to see it starting to go.

First room we got had not been cleaned since the previous guest. Beds unmade, towels strewn about et. The second room we were given was exactly the same. The third room had been cleaned. Good thing since we were tired of going up and down to get new rooms. Found out as we went to bed that the A/C did not work. Did not sleep well in the hot room. Guy at front desk was pleasant. Management and a system that montiors which rooms are cleaned would be something they need to look into.

No complaints! Very friendly staff, clean room, a good variety for breakfast. I would stay here again if in the area! I was told some of the restaurants in the area give discounts if you are staying at the Microtel. We had already eaten, maybe next time.

I don't understand the negative reviews. My room was very clean and nice with good decor, it looked fairly new. Quiet. Very clean. Check in was fast and easy. By defintion, "Micro" Tel rooms are about 1/2 the size of normal hotel rooms, but still plenty of room and perfectly fine for a place to sleep for the night. It was convenient to I-35 and within walking distance of a Perkins. Price very reasonable, under $100. I would definitely go back

Extremely outdated, Kleenex box was hanging off the wall, shampoo/conditioner & lotion were leftover - not new or sealed! Light bulb missing, hallway disgusting, carpets dirty. The lady that checked us in & the lady who checked us out were both great - kind, friendly
